TV Guide UK Tonight: Sun 10 May 2026 – BAFTA TV Awards, The Cage & Believe Me

Daily TV Guide

Sunday 10 May. The BAFTA Television Awards are on BBC One at 7pm — Greg Davies hosts from the Royal Festival Hall and Adolescence is expected to have a very good night. At 9pm, The Cage on BBC One and Believe Me on ITV1 compete for attention: Jeff Pope’s Worboys drama with Daniel Mays is the most significant new premiere of the week.

Quick Picks: Tonight’s Best

  • Bafta Television Awards ⭐ — BBC One, 7pm — Greg Davies hosts. Adolescence expected to sweep
  • Believe Me — ITV1, 9pm — New series. Jeff Pope, Daniel Mays, the Worboys case told from the victims’ side
  • The Cage — BBC One, 9pm — Gary’s worked it out. Matty and Leanne need a plan
  • The Iron Claw — BBC Two, 10pm — The Von Erich wrestling family. Zac Efron, Jeremy Allen White
  • Your Song — Channel 4, 9pm — Hackney Empire prep. Fifth vocalist incoming

Early Evening

Countryfile – BBC One, 6pm

Charlotte Smith and Adam Henson at Oswestry Livestock Market in Shropshire — one of the biggest cattle and sheep markets in the region. BBC iPlayer.

Antiques Roadshow: VE Day Special – BBC Two, 7pm (not Wales)

A repeat, but a solid one. Fiona Bruce and the experts visit Berlin and Bletchley Park for the 80th anniversary of VE Day, with veterans and their objects. BBC iPlayer.

Murdoch Mysteries – U&Alibi, 7pm

A skeleton sealed in a house wall with a scrap of paper bearing the word “butterscotch”. Meanwhile salacious newspaper gossip about Murdoch (Yannick Bisson) and Effie (Clare McConnell) spreads through Toronto. Catch up via Now.

Prime Time

Bafta Television Awards ⭐ – BBC One, 7pm

The British TV industry’s biggest night, live from the Royal Festival Hall. Greg Davies hosts. He’s willing to have an opinion, and not interested in flattering an industry that doesn’t need it.

Adolescence leads the field. Owen Cooper is close to a certainty for supporting actor; Erin Doherty and Stephen Graham are both shortlisted, with Doherty and Graham also up again for A Thousand Blows in the best drama race. The viewer-vote for most memorable moment pits the Celebrity Traitors reveal against Blue Lights and Adolescence. BBC iPlayer.

Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? – ITV1, 8pm

Six contestants, Jeremy Clarkson, someone overthinking a question they knew in three seconds. Fine viewing if the BAFTAs hit an ad break. ITVX.

Cruising to the Ends of the Earth – Channel 4, 8pm

The Royal Princess tracks glaciers and orca pods off Alaska; the Sun Princess basks off Corfu while new crew member Millie visits an olive grove. The standout is Diane, Japan’s only foreign female professional Rakugo performer. C4 streaming.

Harry Wild – U&Drama, 8pm (SERIES FINALE)

Goes out on a murder modelled on Bram Stoker’s Dracula — puncture marks, a suspect with a Siouxsie Sioux look. The Marcello gangster arc wraps up too. Cheerfully strange to the end. Catch up via U.

Hudson and Rex – U&Alibi, 8pm

John Reardon is out (producers went in a different direction) and Luke Roberts takes over as Mark Hudson. The title survives via the shared surname. Roberts is fine. Less fine: a scene where Mark does pull-ups with Rex strapped to him in a harness. Catch up via U.

9pm

The Cage – BBC One, 9pm

Gary has done the arithmetic and knows someone is stealing from him. Matty and Leanne are no longer making slow-motion bad decisions; they have a specific, fast-moving problem. Tony Schumacher’s writing stays ambiguous about how far they’ll actually go, which is exactly why it keeps working. Full series on BBC iPlayer.

Believe Me – ITV1, 9pm (NEW SERIES)

Jeff Pope brings John Worboys to ITV in four parts. Episode 1 centres on Sarah Adams (Aimee-Ffion Edwards), whose account of being attacked by the black cab rapist was dismissed for lack of evidence. The drama focuses on the women the system failed rather than on Worboys himself, which is the right call entirely. Daniel Mays in the lead. Part 2 tomorrow. ITVX.

Your Song – Channel 4, 9pm

The tour is over. Paloma Faith and Sam Ryder prepare for the Hackney Empire finale — Milo still needs to own the stage, Chantel is fighting self-doubt, Mina’s voice is starting to crack, and Findlay sang at his mum’s funeral a year ago. A fifth act is added to the lineup. C4 streaming.

Trading Places – Channel 5, 9pm (NEW SERIES)

Polar-opposite people thrown together, episode one in Cornwall. Saffron’s first line is “I hate the wilderness”, Umar describes himself as “selfish, materialistic and superficial”, and Bridie is the reasonable one. Edited to a clean narrative arc. Channel 5 streaming.

Late Night

The Iron Claw – BBC Two, 10pm (11:25pm N Ireland) ★★★

Sean Durkin’s 2023 drama about the Von Erich wrestling brothers. Four siblings, a domineering father, 1980s America, a lot of tragedy. Zac Efron, Jeremy Allen White, Harris Dickinson, and Stanley Simons all trained under WWE coach Chavo Guerrero Jr. Rated 15. BBC iPlayer.
