4seven TV Guide: Listings, Schedule & What’s On 4seven Tonight

ChannelsDaily TV Guide
Tonight at a Glance 7 programmes · 6pm–1am

4seven is Channel 4’s catch-up channel. It commissions nothing. What it does instead is take whatever from across the Channel 4 stable (Channel 4, E4, More4 and Film4) got people talking over the previous seven days and put it out again, which is where the name comes from.

It launched on 4 July 2012, Channel 4’s first new linear channel since More4 in 2005, and the premise hasn’t changed since. Everything in the table below has already gone out somewhere else on the network. Tonight, Sunday 23 August 2026, A Place in the Sun runs solidly through the evening, moving from a Caribbean search in Antigua at 4pm through Fuerteventura, the Costa Blanca and finally Roquetas de Mar by 7pm. Grand Designs takes over for the 8pm and 9pm hours, Big Fat Quiz: Best Bits fills the 10pm slot, and Everything Everywhere All at Once, freshly moved over from Channel 4’s own schedule, closes the night at 11:05pm.

What’s on 4seven today

Sunday’s schedule opens overnight with a repeat of Big Fat Quiz: Best Bits at 12:05am, then Celebrity Gogglebox at 1:05am and Gogglebox itself at 2:05am. Secret Lives of Gypsy Wives and Crime Scene Cleaners take the small hours from 3:10am, before four hours of Teleshopping carry the schedule through to 9am.

Ten half-hour editions of Four in a Bed then run back to back from 9am to 2pm without a break, the longest unbroken stretch on the channel all day. George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces takes the 2pm slot and Extraordinary Extensions follows at 3pm, before A Place in the Sun settles in for the rest of the afternoon and early evening — four editions in total, starting in Antigua at 4pm and working through Fuerteventura and the Costa Blanca ahead of tonight’s primetime run.

4seven tonight — primetime and the evening schedule

Here’s the 4seven primetime line-up for tonight, Sunday 23 August 2026.

A Place in the Sun — 4seven, 6pm

The property search reaches Spain’s Costa Blanca at 6pm, where Ben Hillman shows a couple a run of villas that all seem to outdo the one before, making the final choice harder rather than easier.

A Place in the Sun — 4seven, 7pm

An hour later the hunt moves inland to Roquetas de Mar, where a couple weighing up a penthouse apartment discover it comes with a genuinely unusual number of shared pools for the money.

Grand Designs — 4seven, 8pm

Grand Designs returns at 8pm for an ambitious Lincolnshire build: a couple set out to construct a 400-square-metre home modelled on an old malthouse, and the project runs into difficulty almost immediately.

Grand Designs — 4seven, 9pm

At 9pm the show follows Rosa and Craig, who plan to make a home out of a disused water store built to serve steam trains on the Welsh border, and the ambition of it runs into problem after problem.

Big Fat Quiz: Best Bits — 4seven, 10pm

At 10pm it’s a highlights reel built from years of Big Fat Quiz outbursts and on-set meltdowns, less a quiz than a compilation of well-known faces losing their composure on camera.

Everything Everywhere All at Once — 4seven, 11:05pm

Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022), Michelle Yeoh’s multiverse-hopping sci-fi hit, closes the night at 11:05pm. It’s newly arrived here from Channel 4’s own schedule and is easily the biggest thing 4seven airs all week: a laundrette owner pulled into an increasingly strange fight to save reality itself.

What kind of shows are on 4seven

The week’s biggest talking points, repeated

Gogglebox and Celebrity Gogglebox turn up constantly, alongside whatever drama or documentary dominated the week. Miss something earlier in the week and there’s a decent chance it’s back on 4seven within a few days.

Property and renovation favourites

Property does most of the heavy lifting. A Place in the Sun, Grand Designs and George Clarke’s Remarkable Renovations all repeat well, partly because the audience for them doesn’t much mind having seen the episode before. Our Farm Next Door: Amanda, Clive and Kids sits in the same bracket, though it’s family factual rather than a competition.

Panel shows, food formats and factual filler

The rest of the day is 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, Come Dine with Me, and clip-led factual like Car S.O.S and American Pickers. Cheap to re-run, all of it.

How to watch 4seven

Channel numbers

Here’s where to find 4seven across the main UK television platforms:

Platform Channel
Freeview 49
Sky 137
Virgin Media 143
Freesat 127

4seven is free on all of the above platforms, with no subscription required. As with any Freeview or Freesat channel, your on-screen guide is the definitive source if your box shows a different number.

Streaming online

4seven streams live and free at channel4.com/now/4s and via the Channel 4 app on smart TVs, iOS, Android and Amazon Fire TV. You’ll need a free Channel 4 account, which costs nothing to set up. Many of the individual shows that have aired on 4seven also turn up on demand through Channel 4’s streaming platform, though not everything broadcast stays available indefinitely.

4seven sister channels

4seven is one of four channels in the Channel 4 network, all run by Channel Four Television Corporation. Channel 4 itself carries the original commissions everyone talks about first. E4 leans younger, with US imports and reality formats. More4 handles the documentaries and factual output, a fair amount of which ends up back on 4seven in the daytime. Film4 is the film channel.

Frequently Asked Questions

What channel is 4seven on Freeview?

A Place in the Sun runs at 6pm and 7pm, Grand Designs takes the 8pm and 9pm hours, Big Fat Quiz: Best Bits airs at 10pm and Everything Everywhere All at Once closes the night at 11:05pm. The schedule table above has the full day.

Yes. It streams live at channel4.com/now/4s and through the Channel 4 app; you’ll need a free Channel 4 account. Many shows also turn up on demand afterwards, though not every title stays available.

Verdict

4seven does one job. It’s the closest thing British television has to a weekly highlights reel, and it costs nothing. The 7pm to 10pm run is where it earns its place; the daytime is filler for anyone who likes property shows and dinner parties.

Tonight’s line-up runs A Place in the Sun through the early evening before Grand Designs takes the 8pm and 9pm hours, Big Fat Quiz: Best Bits fills 10pm and Everything Everywhere All at Once, freshly arrived from Channel 4’s own schedule, closes the night at 11:05pm. The daytime runs the same trick as ever, with a ten-episode Four in a Bed run and further A Place in the Sun repeats filling the morning and afternoon. Every one of them is a second pass at something the network already broadcast earlier in the week.

TV Radar Team is the byline on TV Radar's automatically generated TV guides — covering BBC One, BBC Two, ITV1, Channel 4, Channel 5 and beyond. Each evening's schedule is built from the published listings (titles, start times, run lengths and episode numbers) and checked against our listings data before publication, so you can decide in two minutes what to record and what to skip. These guides are generated automatically rather than written by hand; a human editor spot-checks them, but not every page is read before it goes live. Based in London, updated every day.
