What’s on Legend today
The small hours belong to older genre cinema. Bushwick (1:25am) is the 2017 action thriller shot to look like one continuous take, with Dave Bautista as a Navy veteran and Brittany Snow as a graduate student trying to escape a Brooklyn neighbourhood under siege from a secessionist militia. Stagecoach (3:15am) follows, Trace Adkins as a reformed outlaw dragged back into his old life once a vengeful lawman comes looking for him.
Daytime opens with a run of American action reruns: Walker, Texas Ranger (8am) and T.J. Hooker (9am) give Chuck Norris and William Shatner back-to-back hours, then Babylon 5 (10am) continues its second-series arcs before American Warships (11am), a low-budget Asylum sci-fi in which a decommissioned World War Two battleship becomes Earth’s last line of defence against a cloaked alien fleet. A short branded interlude, Legend Lowdown, leads into The Odessa File (1pm), the 1974 adaptation of Frederick Forsyth’s novel with Jon Voight as a journalist tracking a former SS officer through postwar Germany. House on Haunted Hill (3:30pm) is William Castle’s 1959 chiller, Vincent Price hosting a night of terror for guests bribed to stay till dawn in a house with a violent history. Star Trek’s original series (5pm) rounds off the afternoon before primetime gets under way.
Legend Tonight — Primetime and the Evening Schedule
Here’s the Legend primetime line-up for tonight, Tuesday 14 July 2026.
The Six Million Dollar Man — Legend, 6pm
Lee Majors’ bionic astronaut opens the evening, part one of a two-parter that sends Steve Austin undercover to protect a prince from rival factions.
Babylon 5 — Legend, 7pm
The space station drama continues its second-series run, with Delenn’s loyalties coming under question just as Sheridan gets word of trouble further out in deep space.
Walker, Texas Ranger — Legend, 8pm
Chuck Norris’s Cordell Walker digs into a campus assault case, working a suspected serial offender before the trail runs cold.
Death Race — Legend, 9pm
Tonight’s headline film is Paul W.S. Anderson’s 2008 prison thriller, with Jason Statham as a wrongly convicted driver forced into a televised death match on the road for a shot at freedom. It’s cruder and nastier than the Riddick films that follow it into the schedule, closer in spirit to Death Wish than to Death Race 2000, the Roger Corman original it loosely remakes, but it moves fast enough that the two-hour-plus slot never drags.
Riddick — Legend, 11:10pm
Vin Diesel returns as David Twohy’s antihero for the 2013 sequel, stranded on a hostile planet and turning the bounty hunters sent to collect him into prey. It’s a leaner, meaner film than The Chronicles of Riddick that preceded it, and a solid late-night pick for anyone still up.
What kind of shows are on Legend
Cult horror and its Horror Channel roots
Legend hasn’t abandoned the genre it was built on. Horror still gets regular billing, from Amicus and Hammer-adjacent anthologies through to more recent independent chillers and cult oddities like Horror Express, usually scheduled for the afternoon or late at night rather than headline slots.
Sci-fi, fantasy and action films
The bulk of Legend’s evening schedule is action and genre cinema, heavy on 1980s and 1990s names: Van Damme, Steven Seagal, Dolph Lundgren, and the fantasy-adventure end of the spectrum stretching back to Ray Harryhausen’s stop-motion classics. Film4 covers recent theatrical releases; Legend is doing something older and scrappier.
Classic genre television
Legend is one of the few channels still giving real estate to vintage American genre TV. The Twilight Zone runs as a nightly double bill, and Star Trek, Babylon 5 and The Six Million Dollar Man fill daytime and early-evening hours most weeks. All of them predate the channel by decades.

| Virgin Media | 149 |
| Freesat | 137 |

No account or sign-up is required. A catch-up section carries a selection of recently broadcast programmes, though licensing means not everything that airs stays available and windows vary by title.
Legend Xtra and sister channels
Legend Xtra is Legend’s companion channel, launched on 1 July 2022 as HorrorXtra before being renamed Legend Xtra in a November 2023 refresh. It runs a similar mix of action, sci-fi and horror titles, free on Freeview channel 69, Sky 317, Virgin Media 171, Freesat 138 and Freely 51, with a +1 timeshift version on Sky, Virgin Media and Freesat.
Both channels belong to the CBS AMC Networks UK Channels Partnership, a joint venture between Paramount Networks UK & Australia and AMC Networks International UK. The same partnership runs True Crime and its own sister channel, True Crime Xtra, alongside Legend Xtra in the group’s WatchFreeUK app.

Verdict
Legend isn’t chasing prestige, and it doesn’t need to. It gives proper, well-scheduled real estate to genres other free channels treat as filler: cult horror, vintage sci-fi, and the unpretentious action cinema that Van Damme and his contemporaries built careers on. The daytime schedule of reruns is uneven, as you’d expect from a channel this size, but the evening line-up is programmed with a clear sense of who it’s for.
Tonight is a fair sample of the channel’s range. Three hours of dependable vintage American TV, The Six Million Dollar Man, Babylon 5 and Walker, Texas Ranger, lead into Death Race at 9pm, Jason Statham’s blunt, entertaining prison thriller and the clearest headline slot of the evening. The pick for anyone staying up, though, is the closer: Vin Diesel’s Riddick at 11:10pm is a tighter, better-made film than the 9pm slot, and a stronger late-night watch than Legend usually offers.
