Most live football in the UK is behind a paywall, and no aerial or Freeview box changes that. Premier League rights sit with Sky Sports and TNT Sports; the Champions League is on TNT Sports and Amazon Prime Video; the EFL is largely Sky Sports, with ITV showing selected matches.

What is protected by law is narrower than most people expect. The listed events that must be available free-to-air include the FA Cup final, the World Cup and European Championship finals tournaments, and the Scottish FA Cup final in Scotland. League football is not on that list.
