4seven TV Guide: Listings, Schedule & What’s On 4seven Tonight

ChannelsDaily TV Guide

4seven is Channel 4’s catch-up channel. It commissions nothing. What it does instead is take whatever from across the Channel 4 stable (Channel 4, E4, More4 and Film4) got people talking over the previous seven days and put it out again, which is where the name comes from.

It launched on 4 July 2012, Channel 4’s first new linear channel since More4 in 2005, and the premise hasn’t changed since. Everything in the table below has already gone out somewhere else on the network. Tonight, Saturday 29 August 2026, a five-episode run of A Place in the Sun that started at 3pm closes out with editions at 6pm and 7pm, Location, Location, Location takes the 8pm hour, and Grand Designs airs at 9pm — the same episode Channel 4 shows itself at 5:30pm this afternoon. The Big Fat Quiz of Telly rounds off the night from 10pm. There’s no Gogglebox and no film on 4seven tonight.

What’s on 4seven today

Saturday’s schedule opens overnight with three more instalments of The Never Ending Murder at 12:05am, 1:05am and 2:05am, then The Quiet Girl at 3:05am, before four hours of Teleshopping run the channel through to 9am.

A Place in the Sun then takes the next three hours, three separate house-hunts drawn from three different years of the show at 9am, 9:35am and 10:35am. Come Dine with Me follows with five half-hour episodes back to back from 11:30am, and Couples Come Dine with Me closes that block at 2pm. A Place in the Sun returns for a five-episode afternoon run from 3pm to 7pm — five different house-hunts, each with a different presenter — and the last two of those, at 6pm and 7pm, carry the channel into tonight’s schedule.

4seven tonight — primetime and the evening schedule

Here’s the 4seven primetime line-up for tonight, Saturday 29 August 2026.

A Place in the Sun — 4seven, 6pm & 7pm

4seven’s five-episode Place in the Sun afternoon run finishes with two more editions back to back: one at 6pm, another at 7pm, each a separate house-hunt with its own presenter and its own couple. Nothing links the pair beyond the format.

Location, Location, Location — 4seven, 8pm

Phil Spencer and Kirstie Allsopp take the 8pm hour, matching two sets of buyers with homes around Newcastle and Northumberland (series 37, episode 1).

Grand Designs — 4seven, 9pm

Grand Designs airs at 9pm, and it’s the same episode Channel 4 shows itself at 5:30pm the same afternoon: Kevin McCloud following Pep and Malene as they raise a Viking-inspired hall in the Surrey Hills (series 27, episode 4). Watch it earlier on Channel 4 or catch it here four hours later — it’s identical either way.

The Big Fat Quiz of Telly — 4seven, 10pm

The clip-and-quiz format runs from 10pm to 12:05am, with Susan Wokoma, Sam Campbell, Joanne McNally, Tom Allen, Judi Love and Harry Hill all on the panel across the two-hour-five stretch.

What kind of shows are on 4seven

The week’s biggest talking points, repeated

Gogglebox and Celebrity Gogglebox turn up constantly, alongside whatever drama or documentary dominated the week. Miss something earlier in the week and there’s a decent chance it’s back on 4seven within a few days.

Property and renovation favourites

Property does most of the heavy lifting. A Place in the Sun, Grand Designs and George Clarke’s Remarkable Renovations all repeat well, partly because the audience for them doesn’t much mind having seen the episode before. Our Farm Next Door: Amanda, Clive and Kids sits in the same bracket, though it’s family factual rather than a competition.

Panel shows, food formats and factual filler

The rest of the day is 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, Come Dine with Me, and clip-led factual like Car S.O.S and American Pickers. Cheap to re-run, all of it.

How to watch 4seven

Channel numbers

Here’s where to find 4seven across the main UK television platforms:

Platform Channel
Freeview 49
Sky 137
Virgin Media 143
Freesat 127

4seven is free on all of the above platforms, with no subscription required. As with any Freeview or Freesat channel, your on-screen guide is the definitive source if your box shows a different number.

Streaming online

4seven streams live and free at channel4.com/now/4s and via the Channel 4 app on smart TVs, iOS, Android and Amazon Fire TV. You’ll need a free Channel 4 account, which costs nothing to set up. Many of the individual shows that have aired on 4seven also turn up on demand through Channel 4’s streaming platform, though not everything broadcast stays available indefinitely.

4seven sister channels

4seven is one of four channels in the Channel 4 network, all run by Channel Four Television Corporation. Channel 4 itself carries the original commissions everyone talks about first. E4 leans younger, with US imports and reality formats. More4 handles the documentaries and factual output, a fair amount of which ends up back on 4seven in the daytime. Film4 is the film channel.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s on 4seven tonight?

A five-episode A Place in the Sun run that started at 3pm closes out with editions at 6pm and 7pm. Location, Location, Location takes the 8pm hour, then Grand Designs airs at 9pm — the same episode Channel 4 shows itself at 5:30pm this afternoon. The Big Fat Quiz of Telly closes the night from 10pm to 12:05am. There’s no Gogglebox on 4seven tonight and no film either. The schedule table above has the full day.

Verdict

4seven does one job. It’s the closest thing British television has to a weekly highlights reel, and it costs nothing. The 7pm to 10pm run is where it earns its place; the daytime is filler for anyone who likes property shows and dinner parties.

Tonight’s line-up runs a five-episode Place in the Sun stretch into the evening, with the last two editions at 6pm and 7pm, before Location, Location, Location takes the 8pm hour. Grand Designs airs at 9pm — the same episode Channel 4 broadcasts at 5:30pm the same afternoon — and The Big Fat Quiz of Telly closes the night from 10pm to 12:05am. The daytime runs the same trick as ever, with a five-episode Come Dine with Me stretch, three further A Place in the Sun repeats spread across the morning, and three episodes of The Never Ending Murder overnight. Every one of them is a second pass at something the network already broadcast earlier in the week.

TV Radar Team is the byline on TV Radar's automatically generated TV guides — covering BBC One, BBC Two, ITV1, Channel 4, Channel 5 and beyond. Each evening's schedule is built from the published listings (titles, start times, run lengths and episode numbers) and checked against our listings data before publication, so you can decide in two minutes what to record and what to skip. These guides are generated automatically rather than written by hand; a human editor spot-checks them, but not every page is read before it goes live. Based in London, updated every day.
