4seven TV Guide: Listings, Schedule & What’s On 4seven Tonight

ChannelsDaily TV Guide
Tonight at a Glance 7 programmes · 6pm–1am

4seven is Channel 4’s catch-up channel. It commissions nothing. What it does instead is take whatever from across the Channel 4 stable (Channel 4, E4, More4 and Film4) got people talking over the previous seven days and put it out again, which is where the name comes from.

It launched on 4 July 2012, Channel 4’s first new linear channel since More4 in 2005, and the premise hasn’t changed since. Everything in the table below has already gone out somewhere else on the network. Tonight, Wednesday 26 August 2026, A Place in the Sun runs at 5:30pm and 6pm before The Dog House takes the 7pm and 8pm hours with a pair of episodes drawn from two different series. 24 Hours in A&E follows at 9pm, Surgery Secrets of the Super Rich wraps up its run at 10pm, and Gogglebox closes the night at 11:05pm. There’s no film tonight.

What’s on 4seven today

Wednesday’s schedule opens overnight with two more episodes of Outback Murder Highway, then the film Boston Strangler runs from 1:55am, followed by 24 Hours in A&E at 4:05am. Teleshopping carries the channel from 5am to 9am.

American Pickers and Find It, Fix It, Flog It take the 9am and 10am hours, then The Great B&B Challenge closes out its own run at 11am. From midday, A Place in the Sun runs three editions back to back before Come Dine with Me takes over the rest of the afternoon, five half-hour episodes running from 3pm to 5pm. A fourth and fifth A Place in the Sun carry the schedule from 5:30pm into tonight’s primetime run — the 6pm edition is the same episode Channel 4 airs itself at 3pm that same afternoon, Fiona and Andy house-hunting in Mojácar on a £210,000 budget.

4seven tonight — primetime and the evening schedule

Here’s the 4seven primetime line-up for tonight, Wednesday 26 August 2026.

A Place in the Sun — 4seven, 6pm

The 6pm A Place in the Sun is a rerun of the same hunt Channel 4 broadcasts itself earlier that afternoon: Fiona and Andy looking for a home in Mojácar on Spain’s Almería coast, working to a £210,000 budget.

The Dog House — 4seven, 7pm

The Dog House opens the 7pm hour with an episode from series 7, matching would-be owners with dogs at Wood Green’s rehoming centre.

The Dog House — 4seven, 8pm

A second The Dog House follows straight after at 8pm, this time from series 6. It’s a different set of dogs and adopters, not a continuation of the 7pm episode — 4seven is the only place tonight showing the programme, since Channel 4 itself doesn’t have it on the schedule.

24 Hours in A&E — 4seven, 9pm

24 Hours in A&E takes the 9pm slot, the fixed-rig cameras following whoever comes through the doors of a major trauma centre over the course of a day.

Surgery Secrets of the Super Rich — 4seven, 10pm

Surgery Secrets of the Super Rich wraps up its run at 10pm with its sixth and final episode, closing out the series’ look at cosmetic procedures aimed at wealthy clients.

Gogglebox — 4seven, 11:05pm

Gogglebox closes the night at 11:05pm, the sofa-bound commentators reacting to the week’s television. Expect the usual mix of regulars rather than a single storyline to follow.

What kind of shows are on 4seven

The week’s biggest talking points, repeated

Gogglebox and Celebrity Gogglebox turn up constantly, alongside whatever drama or documentary dominated the week. Miss something earlier in the week and there’s a decent chance it’s back on 4seven within a few days.

Property and renovation favourites

Property does most of the heavy lifting. A Place in the Sun, Grand Designs and George Clarke’s Remarkable Renovations all repeat well, partly because the audience for them doesn’t much mind having seen the episode before. Our Farm Next Door: Amanda, Clive and Kids sits in the same bracket, though it’s family factual rather than a competition.

Panel shows, food formats and factual filler

The rest of the day is 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, Come Dine with Me, and clip-led factual like Car S.O.S and American Pickers. Cheap to re-run, all of it.

How to watch 4seven

Channel numbers

Here’s where to find 4seven across the main UK television platforms:

Platform Channel
Freeview 49
Sky 137
Virgin Media 143
Freesat 127

4seven is free on all of the above platforms, with no subscription required. As with any Freeview or Freesat channel, your on-screen guide is the definitive source if your box shows a different number.

Streaming online

4seven streams live and free at channel4.com/now/4s and via the Channel 4 app on smart TVs, iOS, Android and Amazon Fire TV. You’ll need a free Channel 4 account, which costs nothing to set up. Many of the individual shows that have aired on 4seven also turn up on demand through Channel 4’s streaming platform, though not everything broadcast stays available indefinitely.

4seven sister channels

4seven is one of four channels in the Channel 4 network, all run by Channel Four Television Corporation. Channel 4 itself carries the original commissions everyone talks about first. E4 leans younger, with US imports and reality formats. More4 handles the documentaries and factual output, a fair amount of which ends up back on 4seven in the daytime. Film4 is the film channel.

Verdict

4seven does one job. It’s the closest thing British television has to a weekly highlights reel, and it costs nothing. The 7pm to 10pm run is where it earns its place; the daytime is filler for anyone who likes property shows and dinner parties.

Tonight’s line-up pairs two editions of A Place in the Sun at teatime before The Dog House takes the 7pm and 8pm hours with episodes from two different series, 24 Hours in A&E follows at 9pm, Surgery Secrets of the Super Rich closes out its run at 10pm and Gogglebox rounds off the night at 11:05pm. The daytime runs the same trick as ever, with a five-episode Come Dine with Me stretch and three further A Place in the Sun repeats filling the morning and afternoon. Every one of them is a second pass at something the network already broadcast earlier in the week.

TV Radar Team is the byline on TV Radar's automatically generated TV guides — covering BBC One, BBC Two, ITV1, Channel 4, Channel 5 and beyond. Each evening's schedule is built from the published listings (titles, start times, run lengths and episode numbers) and checked against our listings data before publication, so you can decide in two minutes what to record and what to skip. These guides are generated automatically rather than written by hand; a human editor spot-checks them, but not every page is read before it goes live. Based in London, updated every day.
