4seven is Channel 4’s catch-up channel. It commissions nothing. What it does instead is take whatever from across the Channel 4 stable (Channel 4, E4, More4 and Film4) got people talking over the previous seven days and put it out again, which is where the name comes from.

It launched on 4 July 2012, Channel 4’s first new linear channel since More4 in 2005, and the premise hasn’t changed since. Everything in the table below has already gone out somewhere else on the network. Tonight, Sunday 30 August 2026, four unconnected editions of A Place in the Sun close out at 6pm and 7pm, Jimmy Doherty’s Big Bear Rescue opens a new series at 8pm, and 24 Hours in A&E follows at 9pm. Sunday’s schedule opens overnight with Celebrity Gogglebox at 12:05am and last week’s Gogglebox at 1:05am, then Secret Lives of Gypsy Wives at 2:05am and a two-part rerun of Spy Next Door: The Anna Chapman Story at 3:10am and 4:05am, before four hours of Teleshopping run the channel through to 9am.

Four in a Bed takes over from there — ten half-hour episodes back to back from 9am to 1:30pm, the first five from one series set in Kirkcudbrightshire, Cumbria, Morecambe and Skipton, the second five an older run that closes on its payment day. Location, Location, Location follows at 2pm, then Kirstie and Phil’s Love It or List It: Brilliant Builds at 3pm. From 4pm, A Place in the Sun airs four times through to 7pm, but not as one continuous run: each edition comes from a different series and a different presenter, ranging from a 2019 search in Spain’s Costa Blanca to a 2025 one in Mojácar, and the last two carry the channel into tonight’s schedule.

A different search with a different presenter straight after: Jasmine Harman helps Fiona and Andy weigh up options in Mojácar, on the Almería coast, chasing a beachfront place with a pool for £210,000. The two hours either side of 6pm aren’t one continuous house-hunt — they’re separate episodes from unrelated series.

Jimmy Doherty’s Big Bear Rescue — 4seven, 8pm

Jimmy Doherty takes on two polar bears that need a new home in Sweden, building what the series calls Europe’s largest polar bear reserve at his Suffolk wildlife park. It’s the first of three episodes, and one of the freshest repeats of the night: Channel 4 aired it only two days earlier, on the Friday.

24 Hours in A&E — 4seven, 9pm

Fly-on-the-wall casualty documentary from St George’s in Tooting. Tonight’s patients include a scooter rider with a head injury, a motorcyclist whose leg is at risk after a high-speed crash, and someone who came off worse in a run-in with the bins.

Gogglebox — 4seven, 10pm

This isn’t a fresh watch-along — it’s a rerun of the exact episode Channel 4 broadcast at 7pm this evening, a family-friendly clips compilation drawn from series 27 rather than the sofa-critics’ usual weekly review.

127 Hours — 4seven, 11:05pm

Danny Boyle’s 2011 drama closes the night. James Franco plays the climber pinned by a fallen boulder in a remote canyon, building to the amputation the film is best known for.

Property does most of the heavy lifting. A Place in the Sun, Grand Designs and George Clarke’s Remarkable Renovations all repeat well, partly because the audience for them doesn’t much mind having seen the episode before. Our Farm Next Door: Amanda, Clive and Kids sits in the same bracket, though it’s family factual rather than a competition.
