A new episode rather than a returning series — this run has been going since the spring. Tonight’s mayday call comes from a yacht breaking apart off the Norfolk coast, with crews from Great Yarmouth, Gorleston and Caister scrambled to reach it.

Emergency 24/7 — BBC Two, 9pm

Fly-on-the-wall footage from the front line of emergency care, and tonight’s case is a man brought in after being hit by a train. Not an easy watch, but it doesn’t linger for effect.
