Blaze is a free-to-air factual channel that has run on Freeview since September 2016. Its schedule runs from military history documentaries to ancient-mystery programming, and factual entertainment formats set in pawn shops and storage units fill much of the rest of the day. Tonight, Sunday 16 August 2026, two more episodes of Storage Wars Texas close out the afternoon before the evening turns to a documentary double bill: Secrets In The Jungle at 7pm and Secrets In The Sand at 8pm. Mysteries Unearthed With Danny Trejo premieres a new episode at 9pm, Queens Of Ancient Egypt opens at 10pm, and What On Earth? closes the night from 11pm.

What’s on Blaze today

Daytime Blaze is a loop, and the channel doesn’t pretend otherwise. National Park Mysteries opens the day with a pair of half-hour episodes from midnight, and Conspiracy Files Unsealed and Court Cam each take their own paired half-hour slots through the small hours. Craig Charles: UFO Conspiracies then holds 3am to 5am with three hour-long instalments, before Hardcore Pawn takes over for breakfast — eight editions back to back from 6am to 8:50am, more airtime than any other single strand gets today.

Pawn Stars holds the mid-morning with two hour-long episodes from 9:15am, and Container Wars runs four from 11:10am into early afternoon. Junk & Disorderly takes three hours from 1:05pm, and then Storage Wars Texas settles in for the rest of the afternoon and early evening: six episodes running from 4:05pm through to 6:30pm, the last two carrying the schedule into the evening before Secrets In The Jungle opens primetime at 7pm.

Blaze tonight — primetime and the evening schedule

Here’s the Blaze primetime line-up for tonight, Sunday 16 August 2026.

Storage Wars Texas — Blaze, 6pm & 6:30pm

Two more Lone Star lockers go under the hammer as Storage Wars Texas closes out the afternoon, buyers gambling on sealed units without knowing what’s behind the door until the padlock comes off.

Secrets In The Jungle — Blaze, 7pm

Secrets In The Jungle opens the evening proper, following a team into dense, poorly mapped rainforest in pursuit of a find that has resisted a straightforward explanation.

Secrets In The Sand — Blaze, 8pm

At 8pm, Secrets In The Sand swaps the tree canopy for the desert, digging into a discovery buried somewhere among the dunes.

Mysteries Unearthed With Danny Trejo — Blaze, 9pm

Tonight’s premiere: Mysteries Unearthed With Danny Trejo returns with a new episode at 9pm. Danny Trejo, familiar from Machete and a long run of tough-guy supporting roles, fronts the series, working through buried artefacts and lost history with archive footage, expert testimony and reconstruction filling in the gaps. It’s the only new premiere on Blaze tonight, sat between two documentary strands rather than live sport or a first-run film.

Queens Of Ancient Egypt — Blaze, 10pm

Queens Of Ancient Egypt opens its run at 10pm, turning the spotlight on the women who held power along the Nile rather than the pharaohs who usually get the documentary treatment.

What On Earth? — Blaze, 11pm

What On Earth? closes out the night, working through satellite imagery of sights spotted from space that took some explaining.

What kind of shows are on Blaze

Military and world history documentaries

This is the strand worth setting a reminder for, and it rewards anyone who has already worked through the more familiar documentaries elsewhere. Hitler’s Engineers and U-Boat Wargamers go after corners of the Second World War that don’t get the rotation the D-Day landings and the Battle of Britain do, and both are made with more care than the channel’s reputation would lead you to expect.

Ancient mysteries and the unexplained

Ancient Aliens, The UnXplained with William Shatner, Weird Britain and MonsterQuest account for more hours than anything else on Blaze. The evidence base is viral footage, satellite imagery and eyewitness account rather than anything that has been through review. Watch accordingly.

Factual entertainment and reality

Storage Wars Canada, Pawn Stars and Dickinson’s Real Deal hold the daytime. Ordinary people, real money, modest budgets, and nobody involved pretending it is anything more than that.

How to watch Blaze

Channel numbers

Platform Channel
Freeview 64
Freeview +1 92
Sky HD 156
Sky Glass / Sky Stream 169
Virgin Media 174
Freesat 161

Blaze is free on all of the above platforms, with no subscription required. Virgin Media and Freesat channel numbers may vary slightly depending on your box and region, so your on-screen guide is the definitive source if these don’t match.

Streaming online

Blaze streams live and free at watch.blaze.tv and via the free BLAZE app on iOS, Android, Amazon Fire TV and select smart TVs. No account, subscription or payment card is needed to watch the live stream.

Blaze streaming and catch-up

Blaze runs a Freeview +1 timeshift channel on 92, which is useful when you land on the 9pm show twenty minutes in and would rather start it properly. There is no +1 on Sky, Virgin or Freesat, so Freeview is the only route to a delayed watch.

The BLAZE app and website also carry a real catch-up library rather than a token one. New episodes are typically added daily and stay on demand for around 30 days.

Frequently asked questions

What channel is Blaze on Freeview?

Freeview channel 64, with Blaze +1 on channel 92.

What’s on Blaze tonight?

Storage Wars Texas fills 6pm and 6:30pm before Secrets In The Jungle opens the evening properly at 7pm, followed by Secrets In The Sand at 8pm. Mysteries Unearthed With Danny Trejo premieres a new episode at 9pm, Queens Of Ancient Egypt begins at 10pm, and What On Earth? closes out the night from 11pm.

Is Blaze free to watch?

Yes, entirely free to air on Freeview, Sky, Virgin Media and Freesat, with no subscription fee. It carries advertising like any other commercial channel.

Who owns Blaze?

Blaze launched under A+E Networks UK in September 2016 and is now run by Hearst Networks UK, a joint venture between Hearst and Sky Group, following A+E Networks EMEA’s 2024 rebrand to Hearst Networks EMEA.

Verdict

Blaze knows what it is and doesn’t oversell it, which on most nights is enough. The military history slot is the reason to keep the channel in mind at all: Hitler’s Engineers would hold its own two hundred channel numbers lower down. The unexplained material is lighter, fine as entertainment provided you don’t go to it for evidence. The pawn shops and storage lockers ask nothing of you, which some evenings is the whole appeal.

Tonight leans on the mystery-documentary pairing early, Secrets In The Jungle and Secrets In The Sand back to back, before handing 9pm to the one new episode of the night, Mysteries Unearthed With Danny Trejo. Queens Of Ancient Egypt and What On Earth? see the evening out. No glut of premieres here, just the one, which is closer to how most nights on Blaze actually run.
