The unexplained material is lighter, fine as entertainment provided you don’t go to it for evidence. The pawn shops and storage lockers ask nothing of you, which some evenings is the whole appeal.

Last night’s detour into an organised-crime block doesn’t carry over: tonight Blaze is back on its usual ground. Dickinson’s Real Deal fills the 7pm and 8pm hours with fresh episodes rather than repeats of the morning pair, and once it wraps, two new episodes of What On Earth? take the channel into reindeer circles on the Swedish tundra and a Mexican island that isn’t there any more. It’s a lighter, stranger evening than Tuesday’s, and closer to what Blaze does best — the daytime still carries the variety, with Storage Wars Canada, Storage Hunters, Canadian Pickers and Ancient Aliens all getting a slot before the schedule settles into its unexplained-phenomena groove for the night.
