What’s on CBeebies today

The morning is built the way CBeebies mornings usually are: five- and ten-minute blocks stacked one after another, so a child can drift off and come back without missing a plot. Bluey gets five outings today: Tradies and Bin Night pair up at 7:20am and 7:30am, Mount Mumandad runs solo at 11:15am, then Tradies and Bin Night repeat at 4:35pm and 4:40pm.

Two episodes are genuinely new: What’s in Your Plant Pot? at 10:45am, in which Chef Ching introduces bamboo, and Do Not Watch This Show at 4:20pm, where Wizz has a ghost to deal with. Everything else is a repeat, including two runs of Something Special at 9:45am and 1:45pm, four separate Hey Duggee slots through the day, and a stretch of Zog, Octonauts and Peter Rabbit carrying the afternoon through to teatime.

The pace drops another gear once BeddyByes starts at 6:10pm, and stays there for In the Night Garden at 6:20pm. Both are built for the last stretch before bed: soft colours, slow voices, repetitive structure. BeddyByes follows BaBa and MeMo Dog through a Tweetie-related mix-up; In the Night Garden has the Pontipines searching for their children around the Ninky Nonk.

CBeebies Bedtime Story — CBeebies, 6:50pm

Nikita Kanda reads tonight’s story, Little Lion Girl, about a girl finding her roar and her bravery on a trip to the big city. It’s the last programme of the day, running eight minutes before the channel signs off at 6:58pm and hands its slot to BBC Four until 6am tomorrow.

Most of the schedule is BBC-commissioned. Hey Duggee, from Studio AKA and BBC Studios, has taken multiple Children’s BAFTAs since 2015 and is one of the most-streamed titles the channel has ever had. Something Special, presented by Justin Fletcher since 2003, is the longest-running preschool series in Britain. Bluey, made by Ludo Studio in Australia and co-commissioned with the ABC, has been CBeebies’ most-watched show since 2024. Inclusive and accessible programming

Accessibility isn’t parked in one corner of the schedule here. Something Special was built around Makaton signing from the outset, for children with delayed learning and communication needs, and presenters use Makaton in the links between programmes.
