Today opens just after midnight with Lovejoy at 12:40am (series 1, episode 3), the archive rerun in which Lovejoy is conned out of some figurines by his landlord and sets out for revenge. “Meat Is Murder”, and the strongest hour of the night. A routine DNA test hands Pullman something about her own past she was not looking for, and the case turns into a family matter.

Luther — Drama, 11:20pm

Series one, with Idris Elba. A wealthy couple are taken hostage and Luther has to stop the situation escalating. Late, and not a gentle wind-down.
