Tonight at a Glance 10 programmes · 6pm–1am

ITV2 has been ITV’s channel for the 16-34 crowd since December 1998, and since the 2015 Love Island revival it has essentially been the Love Island channel. Free on Freeview, free to stream live on ITVX. With the main series off air, Thursday on ITV2 runs its usual daytime mix of Real Housewives imports and TOWIE reruns before an early-evening quiz run of Celebrity Catchphrase, The Floor and a Kids Special edition of The 1% Club. Romesh Ranganathan’s Parents’ Evening takes the 9pm slot and Changing Ends follows at 10pm, then it’s only two episodes of Family Guy tonight, at 10:35pm and 11:05pm, before American Dad! closes out the night at 11:35pm.

What’s on ITV2 today

Thursday’s daytime on ITV2 opens with Backyard Builds at 6am and Dress to Impress at 6:30am, before a Real Housewives double bill: Potomac at 7:30am and Beverly Hills at 8:20am. An older Only Way Is Essex episode fills the 9:15am slot, followed by Dawson’s Creek and Charmed through mid-morning.

Deal or No Deal takes over at 12:10pm, then Supermarket Sweep at 1:10pm and an earlier-series The Floor rerun at 2:10pm. A second TOWIE rerun airs at 3:10pm, before the Real Housewives strand returns for early evening with Potomac at 4:10pm and Beverly Hills at 5pm, running straight into Celebrity Catchphrase at 6.

ITV2 tonight — primetime and the evening schedule

Here’s the ITV2 primetime line-up for tonight, Thursday 20 August 2026.

Celebrity Catchphrase — ITV2, 6pm

Stephen Mulhern hosts a charity edition of the guessing game, joined tonight by Samia Longchambon, Amy Dowden and Will Best, all hoping to land £50,000 for good causes by reading the picture clues correctly.

The Floor — ITV2, 7pm

Rob Brydon’s knockout quiz is down to 25 contestants, with the semi-final now in sight and the format’s win-or-be-eliminated pressure ratcheting up by the week.

The 1% Club Kids Special — ITV2, 8pm

Lee Mack swaps his usual adult panel for a kids-only edition (series 5, episode 20), putting nine-to-fifteen-year-olds through the same logic-based questions that trip up grown contestants most weeks.

Romesh Ranganathan’s Parents’ Evening — ITV2, 9pm

Three well-known parent-child pairings tackle the questions this week (series 1, episode 3): Joel Dommett with his mother Penny, boxer Tony Bellew with his son Corey, and Vicky Pattison with her mum Carroll. The format’s hook is that success rests on the parent, not the famous face.

Changing Ends — ITV2, 10pm

Alan Carr’s autobiographical sitcom, drawn from his own Northampton childhood, continues with an episode (series 3, episode 3) that throws a curveball at Alan’s future while a badly judged newspaper interview lands Christine in hot water with the neighbours.

Family Guy — ITV2, 10:35pm and 11:05pm

Just two episodes tonight rather than the usual late-night run. At 10:35pm, The Peanut Butter Kid (series 14, episode 11) has Stewie become the face of a peanut butter advert while the Griffins struggle for cash, and at 11:05pm, Peter, Chris and Brian (series 14, episode 5) sees Peter try to fix his son’s future by forcing father-son bonding time with Brian.

American Dad! — ITV2, 11:35pm

Stan swaps his SUV for a racehorse instead of the hybrid Francine asked for, on Roger’s promise that it’ll win big, in the episode (series 6, episode 10) that closes out ITV2’s night.

What kind of shows are on ITV2

Reality TV and dating formats

Love Island is what the channel is built around, but the daytime schedule runs on the same fuel at lower stakes: Dress to Impress, Dinner Date, TOWIE, and imported American Real Housewives by the yard. Most of it is repeated within the same day, which tells you how it is meant to be watched.

Comedy and US animation

Family Guy, American Dad! and Bob’s Burgers hold up the late-night schedule. None of it is exclusive to ITV2 and none of it is new, but there is enough of it in circulation that a rerun is on somewhere between 11pm and 3am most nights.

Family films

Weekend evenings usually go to animated and studio comedy films, the Ice Age and Madagascar sort of thing.

How to watch ITV2

Channel numbers

Here’s where to find ITV2 across the main UK television platforms:

ITV2+1 on Sky 218

Streaming online

ITV2 streams live and free through ITVX, ITV’s streaming service, at itv.com/watch and via the ITVX app on smart TVs, iOS, Android, Amazon Fire TV and most games consoles. You’ll need a free ITVX account, which takes a couple of minutes to set up and costs nothing. Full episodes of Love Island, Family Guy and most other ITV2 shows are also available on demand shortly after broadcast.

ITV2 +1 and sister channels

ITV2+1 repeats the schedule an hour behind, which is the fix for sitting down at 9.15pm and finding you have missed the opening. Numbers are in the table above. Beyond the timeshift channel, ITV2 sits alongside ITV1, ITV3 and ITV4, and a show premiering on ITV1 will often turn up on ITV2 later.

Verdict

With Love Island off air, Thursday’s ITV2 leans on its early-evening quiz run: Celebrity Catchphrase, The Floor and a Kids Special edition of The 1% Club, back to back from 6pm to 9pm. Romesh Ranganathan’s Parents’ Evening takes over at 9pm and Changing Ends follows at 10pm, before Family Guy gets just two episodes rather than its usual late-night stretch, and American Dad! takes the last half hour.

There’s no premiere to anchor tonight, but the run from Celebrity Catchphrase through to Parents’ Evening gives the evening more shape than the channel’s default rerun pattern. The Kids Special at 8pm and Parents’ Evening at 9pm are the strongest reasons to watch live; the last hour is comfort viewing rather than appointment television.
