Two decades on, it’s ITV plc’s channel for live sport and archive action, running everything from live racing to reruns of classic drama and American sitcoms. Monday’s overnight hours open with Minder at 1:05am (series 3, episode 7), a rerun in which ex-con Ernie walks out of prison after fourteen years with a quarter of a million pounds stashed away. Two episodes of Two and a Half Men follow from 2:05am (series 5, episodes 11 and 12), then teleshopping takes over from 3am until breakfast.

With no BTCC to fill the day, Monday’s daytime is a straight run of classic drama reruns. Magnum, P.I. opens the schedule at 6am and 7am (series 7, episodes 12 and 13), Robin of Sherwood follows at 8:05am (series 3, episode 6, King John replacing the sheriff of Nottingham), Boon takes 9:10am (series 7, episode 6, a kidnapping case), and The Professionals runs at 10:15am (series 2, episode 6, CI5 on the trail of a former colleague turned rogue). Two editions back to back. At 7pm, Jeremy Wade heads into southern Africa’s wetlands to check out rumours of a small, pack-hunting fish with a piranha’s reputation. At 7:30pm he’s at one of the Americas’ biggest dams, digging into a run of unexplained disappearances pinned on whatever’s living in its depths.

The Motorbike Show — ITV4, 8pm

Henry Cole rides out with the Bike for Life group and drops in on builder Alan Milyard in this hour-long edition.

6 Bullets — ITV4, 9pm

Jean-Claude Van Damme and Joe Flanigan lead this 2012 action thriller: a man who specialises in tracking down the missing is drawn into finding an MMA fighter’s kidnapped daughter. The film runs through to 11:20pm — a five-minute FYI Daily bulletin drops in at 10pm, but it’s one continuous watch either side of it.

Benidorm — ITV4, 11:20pm and 11:50pm

Two episodes to close the night. At 11:20pm the Garveys go all in on a pub quiz jackpot, and an infuriated Oracle lets slip more than he means to about Mateo, Troy and Kate. At 11:50pm, Mick gets roped into buying ice creams and sunbeds for the whole family, Kate finds something unwelcome in the pool, and a stranger turns up waving photos of Mick around.

Live sport: racing, rugby and darts

ITV4 carries the bulk of ITV’s live sport rights outside of ITV1’s biggest occasions. ITV Racing has been the channel’s anchor since horse racing moved to ITV from Channel 4 in 2017, running near-daily meetings alongside the showpiece Saturdays. The Nations Championship, rugby’s new global competition launched in July 2026, means ITV4 now shows live rugby through the summer months, when British fans wouldn’t normally get much international action on terrestrial TV.
