Legend TV Guide: Listings, Schedule & What’s On Legend Tonight

ChannelsDaily TV Guide
Tonight at a Glance 5 programmes · 6pm–1am

Legend is what the old Horror Channel turned into after its 2022 rebrand: still free to air, still fond of a monster, but now handing most of its evenings to sci-fi, fantasy and action cinema. Tonight keeps to that pattern, running vintage American action and sci-fi series through the day before Arnold Schwarzenegger’s The Last Stand takes the evening’s main film slot, with Jean-Claude Van Damme’s Kickboxer closing out the night.

What’s on Legend today

The overnight film is The Escapist at 1:25am, Brian Cox as a lifer who tunnels out of prison after learning his estranged daughter is seriously ill, followed at 3:20am by Christopher Lee in the 1960 Hammer chiller The Two Faces of Dr. Jekyll. Legend goes off air at 5am and stays dark until teleshopping fills the 5:30am to 8am gap.

Daytime runs on Legend’s usual diet of American genre television. Walker, Texas Ranger opens at 8am with Walker, Trivette and C.D. stumbling on a drug operation while out on a fishing trip (S3E7). The Six Million Dollar Man follows at 9am, Steve rushing to rescue schoolchildren stranded on a mountain tramway as a tornado closes in, then finding himself under attack from a gang of bandits (S5E6), and Babylon 5’s third season continues at 10am as the cold war against the Shadows sharpens and Sheridan moves to help a blockaded planet (S3E1). Meteor Moon fills the 11am slot, a 2020 disaster film in which a meteor strike knocks the moon onto a collision course with Earth.

After the Legend Lowdown update at 12:50pm, Gunsmoke 2: The Last Apache takes the 1pm slot, James Arness back as Matt Dillon going after a renegade Apache who has taken his daughter captive (1988). Blood River follows at 3pm, a 1991 western in which a young cowboy on the run after avenging his parents’ murder is taken in by a stranger whose motives don’t quite add up. Star Trek: The Original Series airs at 5pm, a troupe of travelling actors joining the Enterprise and giving the crew good reason to doubt their leader (S1E13), before the evening repeat run of The Six Million Dollar Man, Babylon 5 and Walker, Texas Ranger begins at 6pm.

Legend tonight — primetime and the evening schedule

Here’s the Legend primetime line-up for tonight, Tuesday 11 August 2026.

The Six Million Dollar Man — Legend, 6pm

The Six Million Dollar Man goes undercover at 6pm, with Steve posing as a member of a roller-derby team for this second outing of the day (series 5, episode 7).

Babylon 5 — Legend, 7pm

A deranged bomber targets the station in Babylon 5 at 7pm, though help turns up from an unlikely source. G’Kar and Londo, meanwhile, get stuck together in a lift (series 3, episode 2).

Walker, Texas Ranger — Legend, 8pm

Part two of the story that opened at 8am: Walker, Texas Ranger finds Trivette and C.D. taken prisoner by the drug dealers uncovered on their fishing trip, leaving Walker to get them out (series 3, episode 8).

The Last Stand — Legend, 9pm

The Last Stand takes the 9pm slot. Arnold Schwarzenegger plays a small-town Arizona sheriff and disgraced former narcotics cop who gets one shot at redemption when an escaped drug lord makes a run for the Mexican border through his patch. It came out in 2012, Schwarzenegger’s first leading role after leaving office as California governor.

Kickboxer — Legend, 11:10pm

At 11:10pm, it’s Kickboxer, Jean-Claude Van Damme’s 1989 breakout as a martial artist who travels to Thailand to avenge his brother, left paralysed after a brutal defeat in the ring.

What kind of shows are on Legend

Cult horror and its Horror Channel roots

Horror hasn’t been dropped, just demoted. Amicus and Hammer-adjacent anthologies still turn up, along with independent chillers and oddities like Horror Express, though these days they land in the afternoon or after midnight rather than at 9pm.

Sci-fi, fantasy and action films

Most evenings belong to genre cinema of a specific vintage: Van Damme, Steven Seagal, Dolph Lundgren, and further back, the fantasy adventures Ray Harryhausen animated. Film4 has the recent theatrical releases covered. Legend is working two or three decades earlier, and there is less competition for that ground than you would think.

Classic genre television

Very few channels still hand hours to vintage American genre TV. Legend does. The Twilight Zone runs as a nightly double bill, and Star Trek, Babylon 5 and The Six Million Dollar Man fill most weekday daytimes.

How to watch Legend

Here’s where to find Legend across the main UK television platforms:

Platform Channel
Freeview 41
Sky 148
Virgin Media 149
Freesat 137
Freely 38

No subscription is required on any of them. Virgin Media and Freesat numbers can shift depending on your box and region, so trust your on-screen guide over this table if the two disagree.

Streaming online

Legend streams live and free through the WatchFreeUK app, available on Freeview Play, Freesat and YouView, and as a download on iOS, Android, Fire TV, Roku, and Samsung and LG smart TVs. No account or sign-up is required, which is more than can be said for most of its rivals. The catch-up section carries a selection of recently broadcast programmes, but licensing means not everything that airs stays available, and windows vary by title.

Legend Xtra and sister channels

Legend Xtra launched on 1 July 2022 as HorrorXtra and took its current name in a November 2023 refresh. Same broad mix of action, sci-fi and horror, free on Freeview channel 69, Sky 317, Virgin Media 171, Freesat 138 and Freely 51, with a +1 timeshift on Sky, Virgin Media and Freesat.

Both channels belong to the CBS AMC Networks UK Channels Partnership, a joint venture between Paramount Networks UK & Australia and AMC Networks International UK. True Crime and True Crime Xtra come from the same stable and sit alongside them in the WatchFreeUK app.

Verdict

Legend is not chasing prestige and would look daft if it tried. What it gives instead is proper scheduled hours to material other free channels treat as filler. Horror Channel-era chillers hold the fringes of the schedule, but most nights now belong to the action cinema Van Damme and his contemporaries were making through the 1990s.

Tuesday keeps to that identity throughout: American genre reruns filling the day, then The Last Stand anchoring the evening as tonight’s one certified star vehicle, with Van Damme himself taking the late slot at 11:10pm.
