More4 TV Guide: Listings, Schedule & What’s On More4 Tonight

Tonight at a Glance 6 programmes · 6pm–1am

More4 is Channel 4’s factual and lifestyle channel: property shows, food formats and the fly-on-the-wall documentaries that would crowd out the main channel’s schedule. It launched on 10 October 2005 and has been free to air since 6 May 2008, when it dropped the subscription requirement it had briefly carried on satellite. Tuesday’s full listings are below, with channel numbers further down the page.

What’s on More4 today

Tuesday’s More4 schedule runs to 28 slots built from just 10 unique programmes, with two property/food formats doing almost all of the daytime work: two separate runs of Four in a Bed either side of a full week of Come Dine with Me.

Overnight, 999: On the Front Line takes the 12:10am slot (series 6, episode 6), then two episodes of 24 Hours in A&E follow at 1:15am and 2:20am — series 11’s ninth and eleventh, with the tenth skipped. The Perfect Pitch airs just after 3:25am, then Discover Must Have Ideas: Shopping fills most of the rest of the night before Find It, Fix It, Flog It takes the 8:55am slot.

Four in a Bed opens the day proper at 10am with five episodes from series 13, run in order through to the pay-up finale at 12:10pm. Come Dine with Me follows straight after, five episodes from series 2022 running through to 2:50pm. Four in a Bed then returns at 3:20pm for another five-episode run — but this one is series 2, an entirely separate week with no connection to the morning’s series 13 story, not a continuation of it. None of the daytime schedule reaches primetime. Two episodes of Car S.O.S. open the evening from 5:55pm, restoring cars for different owners, before tonight’s headline block takes over — see below.

More4 tonight — primetime and the evening schedule

Here’s the More4 primetime line-up for tonight, Tuesday 1 September 2026.

Car S.O.S — More4, 5:55pm and 6:50pm

Two back-to-back restorations open the evening. At 5:55pm Tim Shaw and Fuzz Townshend head to Northern Ireland for a 1972 Toyota Celica (series 7, episode 2), then at 6:50pm they take on a 1930 Ford Model A for an owner recovering from brain damage (episode 4). Episode 3 doesn’t get a showing today.

Grand Designs — More4, 7:55pm

Grand Designs at 7:55pm revisits Corinne’s build on Sydenham Hill in south London (series 23, episode 7) — a wedge-shaped house squeezed onto a garden sliver, inside a conservation area that made every stage of planning harder.

PopMaster TV — More4, 9pm

Ken Bruce hosts the 9pm quiz, series 5’s fifth heat (episode 5). It’s a returning episode of an established run, not a new series, whatever the on-screen flag implies.

24 Hours in A&E — More4, 10pm and 11:05pm

Two editions close the night, and they aren’t consecutive. The 10pm hour is series 11, episode 8 — a cyclist assessed for head and spinal injuries after colliding with a car. The 11:05pm edition is series 12, episode 5, following a woman airlifted to hospital after being hit by a car, alongside a stroke case and an infant admission.

What kind of shows are on More4

Fly-on-the-wall documentary

This is the strand More4 is known for. 24 Hours in A&E and 999: On the Front Line both use the same method: fixed cameras, real emergencies, no reconstructions. Neither has changed that formula in over a decade of running.

Property and food formats

A Place in the Sun and Come Dine with Me anchor the daytime and early-evening schedule. One is about the fantasy of starting again somewhere warmer; the other is about strangers cooking for each other and being far too honest about the results. Four in a Bed does the same job for the B&B trade. Between them they account for most of what More4 broadcasts before 6pm.

Imported drama and classic comedy

More4 also fills gaps with imported crime drama, a fair amount of Nordic noir, and repeats from Channel 4’s own sitcom back-catalogue. It’s schedule filler between the factual strands rather than anything the channel commissions for itself.

How to watch More4

Channel numbers

Here’s where to find More4 across the main UK television platforms:

Platform Channel
Freeview 18
Sky (England, Wales, NI) 136
Sky (Scotland) 137
Virgin Media 147
Virgin Media +1 347
Freesat 124

More4 is free on all of the above, with no subscription required.

Streaming online

More4 streams live and free at channel4.com/now/m4 and via the Channel 4 app on smart TVs, iOS, Android, Amazon Fire TV, Roku and PlayStation. You’ll need a free Channel 4 account, which costs nothing to set up. Recent episodes of most More4 shows are also available to watch on demand through Channel 4’s streaming platform shortly after broadcast.

More4 +1 and sister channels

More4 +1 runs the schedule an hour behind on Virgin Media, channel 347, but was withdrawn from Freeview back in June 2022. If you miss the start of something on Freeview, the Channel 4 on-demand service is the more reliable way to catch up.

More4 sits alongside Channel 4’s other free channels: the main Channel 4 service, E4 (entertainment and US imports), Film4 (movies) and 4seven (catch-up repeats).

Frequently asked questions

What’s on More4 tonight?

Tonight, Tuesday 1 September 2026, two Car S.O.S. restorations open the evening at 5:55pm and 6:50pm (episode 3 is skipped), then Grand Designs at 7:55pm and PopMaster TV at 9pm — the fifth heat of series 5, not a new series despite how it’s flagged. The night closes with two editions of 24 Hours in A&E, at 10pm and 11:05pm, drawn from series 11 and series 12 rather than a consecutive run. No film tonight. Full times are in the schedule table above.

What time do the main documentaries start on More4?

More4’s documentary strands usually sit between 9pm and 11pm, after the property shows have had the earlier part of the evening. A new series launch or a one-off special can push that earlier, so check the on-screen guide if the evening looks different from usual.

Is More4 free to watch?

Yes, completely free on Freeview, Sky, Virgin Media and Freesat, with advertising breaks but no subscription fee.

Can I watch More4 online for free?

Yes. It streams live at channel4.com/now/m4 and through the Channel 4 app; you’ll need a free Channel 4 account. Most recent episodes also appear on demand shortly after broadcast.

Verdict

More4 doesn’t try to be flashy, and that’s the point. It’s where Channel 4 parks programming that works without gimmicks: a B&B owner docking marks over a soggy fry-up, or a couple squeezing a wedge-shaped house onto a sliver of garden in a conservation area. Tuesday’s daytime schedule leans on the same two formats twice over — two unrelated Four in a Bed runs, from different series, bookending a full week of Come Dine with Me — just 10 unique programmes across 28 slots before the evening even starts.

Tonight’s primetime keeps the channel’s factual identity front and centre: two Car S.O.S. restorations open the evening, Grand Designs follows at 7:55pm, then PopMaster TV and two editions of 24 Hours in A&E carry the schedule through to midnight — the latter pulled from two different series rather than a single run. No film tonight, just the mix of property, quiz and documentary that More4 turns to most nights of the week.

TV Radar Team is the byline on TV Radar's automatically generated TV guides — covering BBC One, BBC Two, ITV1, Channel 4, Channel 5 and beyond. Each evening's schedule is built from the published listings (titles, start times, run lengths and episode numbers) and checked against our listings data before publication, so you can decide in two minutes what to record and what to skip. These guides are generated automatically rather than written by hand; a human editor spot-checks them, but not every page is read before it goes live. Based in London, updated every day.
