Sunday’s schedule opens overnight with two editions of National Park Mysteries at midnight and 12:30am, then two of Conspiracy Files Unsealed at 1am and 1:30am. Killer Britain with Dermot Murnaghan takes the 2am hour, four editions of UFO Chronicles run from 3am to 4:30am, and Alien Files Reopened closes out the small hours at 5am.

Eight editions of Hardcore Pawn fill breakfast from 6am to 8:50am, followed by two of Pawn Stars Do America from 9:15am. Four editions of Container Wars carry the late morning and lunchtime through to 1:05pm, when three of Junk & Disorderly take over until 4:05pm. Six back-to-back Storage Wars Texas auctions then run from 4:05pm through to 7pm, when the evening’s run of ancient-history programming begins.

Secrets in the Sand — Blaze, 8pm

Secrets in the Sand does the desert equivalent. This edition pairs a mummy discovery with the ancient road network running through Chaco Canyon, two finds with little obviously in common beyond the ground they came out of.

The Lost City of Ramses II — Blaze, 9pm

The second and final part of this documentary picks up the hunt for the lost city built by Ramses the Great, continuing from last week’s opening instalment.

Queens of Ancient Egypt — Blaze, 10pm

This edition, Cleopatra’s Daughter, turns to Cleopatra Selene, the ruler’s daughter with Mark Antony — a figure who usually gets no more than a passing mention in the version of the story built around her mother.

The UnXplained: Mysteries of the Universe — Blaze, 11pm

William Shatner turns his attention to Earth itself in Mysterious Earth, treating the planet as one more object worth puzzling over rather than the fixed backdrop to everything else on the strand.

This is the strand worth setting a reminder for, and it rewards anyone who has already worked through the more familiar documentaries elsewhere. Hitler’s Engineers and U-Boat Wargamers go after corners of the Second World War that don’t get the rotation the D-Day landings and the Battle of Britain do, and both are made with more care than the channel’s reputation would lead you to expect.

The unexplained material is lighter, fine as entertainment provided you don’t go to it for evidence. The pawn shops and storage lockers ask nothing of you, which some evenings is the whole appeal.

Tonight’s shape is different from the usual mix: two more Storage Wars Texas auctions close out the afternoon before the evening pivots entirely to ancient history and archaeology. Secrets in the Jungle and Secrets in the Sand make a tidy pair at 7pm and 8pm, and the concluding half of The Lost City of Ramses II at 9pm rewards anyone who caught the opening instalment. Queens of Ancient Egypt and The UnXplained: Mysteries of the Universe close out the night without a pawn shop or storage locker in sight after 7pm.
