What’s on CBeebies today

Thursday’s early-morning build starts at 6am with Roots and Fruits, then Bing, Teletubbies, Tee and Mo, Colourblocks and a Bluey Minisodes short run through to Hey Duggee at 7:05am. Bluey gets two slots either side of 7:20am, then Go Jetters and Peter Rabbit lead into Octonauts, Numberblocks and Wonderblocks for the run up to Justin’s House at 8:30am.

Something Special: We’re All Friends opens the morning proper at 9:45am, signed throughout in Makaton, with I Can Grow It getting a new episode at 10:45am. The early afternoon repeats the pattern with a second Something Special edition, and from mid-afternoon it’s a run of shorter titles — Supertato, The Weasy Family, Bluey and Zog among them — before Dodge’s Pup School and new instalments of Rafi the Wishing Wizard lead the wind-down from 5pm into the evening line-up below.

In the Night Garden (series 1, episode 1) follows at 6:20pm, the slow, dreamlike visits to Iggle Piggle and the rest of the cast that have closed the CBeebies day for years.

CBeebies Bedtime Stories — CBeebies, 6:50pm

A guest reader closes out the schedule with a picture book at 6:50pm (series 2021, episode 26), the nightly send-off before the channel signs off.

CBeebies’ own commissions

Most of the schedule is BBC-commissioned. Hey Duggee, from Studio AKA and BBC Studios, has taken multiple Children’s BAFTAs since 2015 and is one of the most-streamed titles the channel has ever had. Something Special, presented by Justin Fletcher since 2003, is the longest-running preschool series in Britain. Imported animated hits

Bluey, made by Ludo Studio in Australia and co-commissioned with the ABC, has been CBeebies’ most-watched show since 2024. It’s rare for a preschool cartoon to hold an adult’s attention as well as a child’s, but Bluey manages it. Puffin Rock and Zog, adapted from Julia Donaldson’s picture book, are the other imports you’ll see most often.

Inclusive and accessible programming

Accessibility isn’t parked in one corner of the schedule here. Something Special was built around Makaton signing from the outset, for children with delayed learning and communication needs, and presenters use Makaton in the links between programmes. The nightly Bedtime Story has run episodes signed in British Sign Language and read in Braille.
