EntertainmentMore4 is Channel 4’s factual and lifestyle channel: property shows, food formats and the fly-on-the-wall documentaries that would crowd out the main channel’s schedule. It launched on 10 October 2005 and has been free to air since 6 May 2008, when it dropped the subscription requirement it had briefly carried on satellite. Tuesday’s full listings are below, with channel numbers further down the page.

What’s on More4 today
Tuesday’s More4 schedule runs to 28 slots built from a dozen different programmes, with two long Four in a Bed blocks doing most of the heavy lifting before the evening turns to cars, a self-build and a quiz.
Overnight opens with 999: On the Front Line just after midnight, then two back-to-back editions of 24 Hours in A&E from 1:15am, The Perfect Pitch at 3:20am and a long stretch of Discover Must Have Ideas: Shopping carrying the channel through to breakfast. Find It, Fix It, Flog It closes out the morning at 8:55am.
Four in a Bed then runs in two separate five-episode blocks rather than one long stretch. The first, series 12, fills the late morning from 10am and reaches its own payment day at 12:10pm. Five episodes of Come Dine with Me follow from 12:40pm, before a second Four in a Bed run — series 19 this time — takes over from 3:20pm and closes on its own payment-day episode at 5:20pm. Car S.O.S picks up straight after and runs the schedule into the primetime line-up below.
More4 tonight — primetime and the evening schedule
Here’s the More4 primetime line-up for tonight, Tuesday 25 August 2026. Cars open the evening well before the 7pm watershed of the schedule proper, so the run really starts at 5:50pm.
Car S.O.S — More4, 5:50pm
Tim Shaw and Fuzz Townshend take on a tired Peugeot 205 GTi, with rally driver Paddy Hopkirk along to lend a hand. It holds the slot until 6:50pm, so anyone tuning in for the 6pm hour gets the tail end of this one rather than a fresh start.
Car S.O.S — More4, 6:50pm
A second restoration follows straight after: a neglected Citroën DS. Same format, different car, and the pair between them account for the whole hour and three-quarters before Grand Designs.
Grand Designs — More4, 7:55pm
Kevin McCloud is on Scotland’s west coast for a clifftop self-build, a project with the kind of weather and budget problems the series usually saves for its most dramatic episodes. It’s a new run for the show, so expect the usual mix of ambition and second-guessing over the coming weeks.
PopMaster TV — More4, 9pm
The listing still carries a “brand new series” tag left over from the run’s launch, but this is the third heat, not the opener — Ken Bruce has already been through two rounds of contestants. Worth noting if the tag has you expecting a fresh start.
Little Trains & Big Names with Pete Waterman — More4, 10pm
Pete Waterman shows Status Quo’s Francis Rossi round a model railway layout for the first time. It’s the third of four instalments, so anyone catching this cold has missed two earlier pairings.
Police Rescue — More4, 11:05pm
The channel opens a new six-part run following officers on emergency call-outs, an unassuming late slot for a series that’s just getting started.
What kind of shows are on More4
Fly-on-the-wall documentary
This is the strand More4 is known for. 24 Hours in A&E and 999: On the Front Line both use the same method: fixed cameras, real emergencies, no reconstructions. Neither has changed that formula in over a decade of running.
Property and food formats
A Place in the Sun and Come Dine with Me anchor the daytime and early-evening schedule. One is about the fantasy of starting again somewhere warmer; the other is about strangers cooking for each other and being far too honest about the results. Four in a Bed does the same job for the B&B trade. Between them they account for most of what More4 broadcasts before 6pm.
Imported drama and classic comedy
More4 also fills gaps with imported crime drama, a fair amount of Nordic noir, and repeats from Channel 4’s own sitcom back-catalogue. It’s schedule filler between the factual strands rather than anything the channel commissions for itself.
How to watch More4
Channel numbers
Here’s where to find More4 across the main UK television platforms:
| Platform | Channel |
|---|---|
| Freeview | 18 |
| Sky (England, Wales, NI) | 136 |
| Sky (Scotland) | 137 |
| Virgin Media | 147 |
| Virgin Media +1 | 347 |
| Freesat | 124 |
More4 is free on all of the above, with no subscription required.
Streaming online
More4 streams live and free at channel4.com/now/m4 and via the Channel 4 app on smart TVs, iOS, Android, Amazon Fire TV, Roku and PlayStation. You’ll need a free Channel 4 account, which costs nothing to set up. Recent episodes of most More4 shows are also available to watch on demand through Channel 4’s streaming platform shortly after broadcast.
More4 +1 and sister channels
More4 +1 runs the schedule an hour behind on Virgin Media, channel 347, but was withdrawn from Freeview back in June 2022. If you miss the start of something on Freeview, the Channel 4 on-demand service is the more reliable way to catch up.
More4 sits alongside Channel 4’s other free channels: the main Channel 4 service, E4 (entertainment and US imports), Film4 (movies) and 4seven (catch-up repeats).
Frequently asked questions

What time do the main documentaries start on More4?

Yes. It streams live at channel4.com/now/m4 and through the Channel 4 app; you’ll need a free Channel 4 account. Most recent episodes also appear on demand shortly after broadcast.
Verdict
More4 doesn’t try to be flashy, and that’s the point. It’s where Channel 4 parks programming that works without gimmicks: a B&B owner docking marks over a soggy fry-up, or two mechanics coaxing a rusting classic back onto the road. The daytime schedule leans on the same recycled formats every day, and Tuesday is no exception — a dozen unique titles fill 28 slots, with Four in a Bed alone running through two separate five-episode blocks either side of Come Dine with Me.
Tonight’s primetime swaps the channel’s usual documentary-led shape for cars, a self-build and a quiz first: Car S.O.S runs two restorations back to back from 5:50pm, Grand Designs follows a clifftop build on Scotland’s west coast at 7:55pm, and PopMaster TV’s third heat takes the 9pm slot. Little Trains & Big Names with Pete Waterman and the opening episode of a new Police Rescue run close out the night, keeping the channel’s factual identity intact by the end of the evening.
