More4 is Channel 4’s factual and lifestyle channel: property shows, food formats and the fly-on-the-wall documentaries that would crowd out the main channel’s schedule. It launched on 10 October 2005 and has been free to air since 6 May 2008, when it dropped the subscription requirement it had briefly carried on satellite. Wednesday’s More4 schedule runs to 28 slots built from a dozen different programmes, with two long Four in a Bed blocks doing most of the heavy lifting before the evening turns to cars, a self-build and a rail journey through Roman history.

Overnight opens with 999: On the Front Line just after midnight, then two back-to-back editions of 24 Hours in A&E from 1:15am, The Perfect Pitch at 3:20am and a long stretch of Discover Must Have Ideas: Shopping carrying the channel through to breakfast. Find It, Fix It, Flog It closes out the morning at 8:55am.

Four in a Bed then runs in two separate five-episode blocks rather than one long stretch. The first, series 12, fills the late morning from 10am and reaches its own payment day at 12:10pm. 24 Hours in A&E — More4, 10pm

More4 closes the night with a double dose of 24 Hours in A&E from 10pm, the long-running documentary strand that fixes cameras around a major trauma centre and follows whichever cases come through the doors that day, from paramedics on the road to the surgeons who take over once patients reach resus.
