It launched on 10 October 2005 and has been free to air since 6 May 2008, when it dropped the subscription requirement it had briefly carried on satellite. Saturday’s More4 schedule runs to almost 30 slots built from a handful of unique programmes, and daytime is almost entirely given over to the same property and food strands as usual.

Overnight, 999: On the Front Line opens the schedule just after midnight, then two 24 Hours in A&E episodes and A Place in the Sun fill the small hours before the High Street shopping strand takes over from around 4am. Four in a Bed restarts the proper schedule at 8:55am with five episodes running through to 11am.

Three A Place in the Sun episodes carry late morning into early afternoon, then Come Dine with Me takes over with five episodes through to 4:50pm. A further five-episode Four in a Bed run follows from 5:20pm, running straight into the evening. See below.

A Place in the Sun and Come Dine with Me anchor the daytime and early-evening schedule. One is about the fantasy of starting again somewhere warmer; the other is about strangers cooking for each other and being far too honest about the results.
