E4 TV Guide: Listings, Schedule & What’s On E4 Tonight

ChannelsDaily TV Guide
Tonight at a Glance 6 programmes · 6pm–1am

E4 is Channel 4’s younger-skewing entertainment channel: American sitcom reruns through the day, reality formats after dark, and the Hollyoaks first-look Monday to Wednesday at 7pm. Sunday 30 August 2026 opens with the Hollyoaks Omnibus at 6am, rounding up the week’s episodes rather than showing a new one — first-look episodes resume at 7pm on Monday. The evening runs a travel-and-renovation double of Cruising Paradise: Above & Below Deck and Lego Masters Australia from 5:40pm, then Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares USA at 8pm and Celebrity Gogglebox at 9pm, before Sarah Millican’s stand-up special and the 2022 Scream close the night. Daytime carries seven Simpsons episodes split across two runs, a two-hour showing of Home and two Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares USA repeats either side of lunch.

What’s on E4 today

Overnight is three episodes of Below Deck from 1:10am, followed by two of Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares USA and a short Modern Family at 5:35am. The Hollyoaks Omnibus opens at 6am, running 70 minutes to catch up the week’s storylines rather than showing a new episode — the first-look run doesn’t reach Sunday, and the next fresh episode is Monday at 7pm.

Breakfast continues with a second Modern Family at 7:10am, then three Simpsons episodes from an older series 6 run. From 9:05am the schedule switches to a different Simpsons era, series 17, for four more episodes through to 10:40am — seven Simpsons in total either side of that gap in production years. Home, the 2015 animated film, fills the late morning from 11:10am to 1:10pm.

Two more Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares USA episodes run from 1:10pm, and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York takes the whole afternoon from 3:05pm, running two hours thirty-five minutes into the start of the evening.

E4 tonight — primetime and the evening schedule

Here’s the E4 primetime line-up for tonight, Sunday 30 August 2026.

Cruising Paradise: Above & Below Deck — E4, 5:40pm

The travel strand takes the Star Princess to Belize, with mangrove channels and a snorkel trip that puts guests in the water with sharks and rays. The feed tags this one “brand new series”, but it’s the fifth episode of an established run, not an opener. It holds the screen for a full hour, taking E4 through to 6:40pm.

Lego Masters Australia — E4, 6:40pm

Teams keep building through to series 7’s third episode, a full hour and twenty minutes that carries E4 to 8pm. Another “brand new series” label on the feed doesn’t hold up here either — this is mid-run, not a launch.

Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares USA — E4, 8pm

Gordon Ramsay drops in on another failing American restaurant. The feed’s own numbering puts this at series 3, episode 1, but the show itself dates back well over a decade — a fixture of E4’s evening rather than anything new.

Celebrity Gogglebox — E4, 9pm

Famous faces watch the week’s television from their own sofas. This is the celebrity strand specifically, separate from the main Gogglebox households, and it’s the only version of the format on E4 tonight.

Sarah Millican: Late Bloomer — E4, 10pm

An hour of stand-up from the Newcastle comedian, filmed on tour and running just past 11pm.

Scream — E4, 11:05pm

The 2022 legacy sequel brings Courteney Cox’s Gale Weathers back to Woodsboro for a new Ghostface, with a run time long enough to carry E4 to just after 1am.

Popular shows on E4

Reality

Married at First Sight Australia is E4’s most-watched acquisition and the one that reorders the whole schedule when a series is on. Three or four episodes a week, strangers paired off by “experts”, married at first meeting, then sat at a dinner party until somebody says the unforgivable thing. The UK version plays much quieter. Its couples absorb the pressure rather than detonate at the table, which is more realistic and considerably less watchable.

Celebs Go Dating has been on E4 since 2016 and has never changed shape: two relationship coaches, currently Paul C. Brunson and Anna Williamson, a handful of celebrity clients, and dates with members of the public.

Soap

Hollyoaks has been on Channel 4 since 1995 and in E4’s first-look slot long enough that most viewers under 35 have never known it any other way. It takes on the heavy issue storylines soaps go in for, mental health and addiction and the rest, while keeping the pace quick and the cast young.

US comedy

The Big Bang Theory, Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Modern Family anchor daytime, and all three sit on Channel 4’s streaming service on demand. The Simpsons is the exception to everything. E4 holds so much of it that a single day can jump across two decades of the show without anyone at the channel appearing to mind.

How to watch E4

Channel numbers

Where to find E4 by platform:

Platform Channel Number
Freeview 13
Sky (Q, Stream, Glass) 135
Virgin Media / Freesat Check your on-screen guide

E4 is free-to-air everywhere. A Freeview aerial carries it, and so does every Sky package as standard.

Streaming

E4 streams live and on demand for free through Channel 4’s app and channel4.com, covering smart TVs, iOS, Android, Amazon Fire TV, Roku and most streaming sticks. Registration is free and asks for no payment details. Adverts play regardless. The full E4 library is there as well, including complete runs of Married at First Sight Australia and MAFS UK, and Hollyoaks as catch-up after transmission.

E4 +1, E4 Extra and the Channel 4 family

E4 +1 on Freeview 30 is a straight one-hour timeshift, so 7pm here is 8pm there.

E4 Extra is the sister channel for repeats and extra runs of E4’s biggest shows. It launched in 2022 in the slot 4Music vacated, and sits on Freeview 31 and Sky 139.

Both sit in the wider Channel 4 family alongside the main channel, More4 for factual and Film4 for cinema. All of them are commercially funded. Channel 4 is publicly owned but takes no licence fee money and no government subsidy, a distinction worth remembering the next time somebody complains about the adverts.

Frequently asked questions

What’s on E4 tonight?

There’s no Hollyoaks first-look tonight — that run is Monday to Wednesday only, and Sunday’s episode was the 6am Omnibus catch-up. The evening instead runs Cruising Paradise: Above & Below Deck at 5:40pm and Lego Masters Australia at 6:40pm, before Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares USA at 8pm and Celebrity Gogglebox at 9pm. Sarah Millican’s stand-up special takes 10pm, and the film Scream closes the night from 11:05pm. Times are in the schedule table above.

Does E4 have adverts?

Yes. It is a commercial channel, so ad breaks run on linear TV and on the streaming free tier alike. No licence fee, no subscription. Record it on a PVR and you can skip them as usual.

When did E4 launch?

E4 launched on 18 January 2001 as a companion to Channel 4, aimed at younger viewers from day one. It began as a subscription service, later went free-to-air, and reached Freeview in May 2005.

Verdict

Sunday runs without a Hollyoaks first-look — the week’s episodes catch up in the 6am Omnibus instead — so the evening leans on E4’s other regulars. Cruising Paradise: Above & Below Deck and Lego Masters Australia carry the run-in to primetime from 5:40pm, Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares USA takes 8pm, and Celebrity Gogglebox, the celebrity-only edition of the format, opens the 9pm hour. Sarah Millican’s stand-up special and the 2022 Scream close out the night from 10pm.

Daytime is built around The Simpsons, split across an older series 6 stretch and a later series 17 run either side of 9am, with Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares USA repeats bookending a two-hour showing of Home and, later, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York running the whole afternoon into the start of the evening.

TV Radar Team is the byline on TV Radar's automatically generated TV guides — covering BBC One, BBC Two, ITV1, Channel 4, Channel 5 and beyond. Each evening's schedule is built from the published listings (titles, start times, run lengths and episode numbers) and checked against our listings data before publication, so you can decide in two minutes what to record and what to skip. These guides are generated automatically rather than written by hand; a human editor spot-checks them, but not every page is read before it goes live. Based in London, updated every day.
