Tonight is a proper action run rather than a mixed bag. The Monuments Men at 6:45pm is the pick for anyone after something with more substance, an all-star cast doing solid work around a genuinely interesting piece of wartime history. Commando at 9pm is exactly what it looks like: loud, silly, and unbothered by its own plot holes. Predator closes things out as the better film of the two Schwarzenegger vehicles, still a sharp piece of genre filmmaking decades on. None is a Film4 Productions title, and none needs to be to earn its slot. Daytime keeps to the channel’s classic-film habit: a school drama, a mining epic and a couple of vintage adventures, with no single centrepiece.
