Saturday’s overnight run strips three MAS*H episodes from midnight (series 6, episodes 6 to 8), then Man About The House at 1:30am (series 1, episode 4) and two Air Rescue instalments from 2am, one of them series 1, episode 1. Highway To Heaven runs two editions either side of the small hours, at 3am and 4am (series 2, episodes 10 and 11), each followed by a Good News on GREAT! Extra bulletin, before TJC’s teleshopping fills 5am to 8am.

Highway To Heaven returns for one more instalment at 8:10am (series 2, episode 22), then Little House On The Prairie takes over for the rest of the day, running eight episodes back to back from 9:10am through to 5:50pm (series 4, episode 21 to series 5, episode 8) — practically the whole daytime schedule in one series. Kind Hearts and Coronets — GREAT! TV, 9pm

Kind Hearts and Coronets is the 1949 Ealing comedy in which Alec Guinness plays eight members of the same aristocratic family, each dispatched in turn by a distant, disinherited relative working his way up the line of succession. Still one of the studio’s sharpest scripts. The same short bulletin interrupts it at 9:52pm, picking back up at 9:57pm.

George And Mildred — GREAT! TV, 11:25pm

George And Mildred spun off from Man About The House in 1976, moving Yootha Joyce and Brian Murphy’s bickering couple out to the suburbs for four more series of mismatched-marriage comedy. Closes out the night without a break.

Little House on the Prairie, The Waltons and Highway to Heaven carry the daytime hours, and two of the three are largely Michael Landon’s doing.
