Saturday’s schedule opens overnight with Paranormal Survivor at midnight, then two editions of Close Encounters at 1am and 1:30am. Killer Britain with Dermot Murnaghan airs at 2am (series 3, episode 2), flagged “New:” in the listings though it’s a returning weekly slot rather than a fresh run. Junk & Disorderly gets an early outing at 3am, and three consecutive editions of Hardcore Pawn then carry the small hours through to 5am, when Dickinson’s Real Deal takes over.

Six Storage Wars episodes run back to back from 6am to 8:20am, then two editions of The Unxplained With William Shatner take the rest of the morning. World War Weird — Blaze, 9pm

Flagged “New:” in the listings, but this is series 3, episode 4, not a launch. Tonight’s story covers a German pilot who chose to escort a crippled American B-17 bomber to safety rather than shoot it down — one of the better-known acts of wartime mercy, retold here.

Secret Wars Uncovered — Blaze, 10pm

Also marked “New:” without being one — series 2, episode 6 looks at the 1983 US invasion of Grenada, a Cold War operation that rarely gets much screen time compared with the bigger conflicts either side of it.

Bermuda Triangle: Into Cursed Waters — Blaze, 11pm

Flight 19: five bombers and the seaplane sent after them, all gone in a single afternoon in 1945, taking 27 men with them. No other case did more to make the Bermuda Triangle a household phrase. Late slot, kept brief.

Military and world history documentaries

This is the strand worth setting a reminder for, and it rewards anyone who has already worked through the more familiar documentaries elsewhere. Hitler’s Engineers and U-Boat Wargamers go after corners of the Second World War that don’t get the rotation the D-Day landings and the Battle of Britain do, and both are made with more care than the channel’s reputation would lead you to expect.

Ancient mysteries and the unexplained

Ancient Aliens, The UnXplained with William Shatner, Weird Britain and MonsterQuest account for more hours than anything else on Blaze. The evidence base is viral footage, satellite imagery and eyewitness account rather than anything that has been through review. Watch accordingly.

Factual entertainment and reality

Storage Wars Canada, Pawn Stars and Dickinson’s Real Deal hold the daytime. Ordinary people, real money, modest budgets, and nobody involved pretending it is anything more than that.

The unexplained material is lighter, fine as entertainment provided you don’t go to it for evidence. The pawn shops and storage lockers ask nothing of you, which some evenings is the whole appeal.

Tonight leans harder into the mystery strand than usual: three unrelated History’s Greatest Mysteries episodes from 6pm, then World War Weird and Secret Wars Uncovered either side of 9pm and 10pm — both carrying a “New:” flag that overstates things, since neither is a fresh series. Bermuda Triangle: Into Cursed Waters revisits the Flight 19 disappearance to close the night.
