Saturday opens just after midnight with two more MAS*H episodes (series 4, episodes 11 and 12), then a single Rising Damp at 1:20am. Two Air Rescue episodes and two of Highway To Heaven follow through the small hours, each break marked by a short Good News on GREAT! Extra bulletin, before TJC’s teleshopping fills the schedule from 5am to 8am.

Highway To Heaven gets a fresh outing at 8:10am (series 2, episode 18), and Little House on the Prairie then takes over almost the whole of the day: nine episodes back to back from 9:20am through to 6pm, series four’s fourth episode to its twelfth. American family drama and rural nostalgia

Little House on the Prairie, The Waltons and Highway to Heaven carry the daytime hours, and two of the three are largely Michael Landon’s doing.
