The Chase 2026: Chasers, Episodes, Around the World and Where to Watch

The Chase is on tonight — Friday 23 October at 5pm on ITV1, STV and UTV.

Bradley Walsh’s teatime quiz has been on ITV since June 2009. One contestant at a time tries to stay ahead of a chaser, and the weekday run goes out at 5pm on ITV1, mixing new and repeat episodes.

This page is rebuilt every day from the published broadcast schedule, so the answer above is the current one rather than whatever was true when it was written.

When is The Chase on?

The Chase goes out on weekdays at 5pm on ITV1, with ITV1 +1 repeating it an hour later. Not every episode is new. ITV has said the show carries new and repeat episodes through the year, so a busy-looking schedule does not always mean fresh contestants. Casting for series 19 planned filming across autumn and winter 2025 and spring 2026.

Bradley Walsh has hosted since the first episode on 29 June 2009. The main show has been made at Elstree Studios since 2014.

How The Chase works

Four contestants play individually, then as a team against one chaser. The structure rarely changes, which is much of its appeal.

  1. Cash Builder. One contestant at a time gets 60 seconds and earns £1,000 for each correct answer.
  2. Head-to-head. The contestant races a chaser down a seven-step board.
  3. Final Chase. Anyone still in the game joins a two-minute team round. If the team beats the chaser, the prize fund is divided equally among those left.

If all four are caught, one contestant plays on alone for £1,000, or £2,000 in a Celebrity Special.

The chasers in 2026

The chasers are the show’s real stars. Mark Labbett (The Beast) and Shaun Wallace (The Dark Destroyer) have been there since series one. Anne Hegerty (The Governess) arrived in series two and Paul Sinha (The Sinnerman) in series four. Jenny Ryan (The Vixen) joined in 2015, and Darragh Ennis (The Menace) in 2020.

We have not found any announcement of a chaser leaving or a new one joining this year, and the six are all in the 2026 spin-off. If that changes, ITV will say so first.

The Chase Around the World

The Chase Around the World is a different show from the weekday quiz: a six-part primetime series, which began on Thursday 16 July 2026 on ITV1 and ITVX and went out weekly. Bradley Walsh and all six chasers left the studio for a series of European cities: Rome, Barcelona, Lisbon, Paris, Zurich and, for the finale on 20 August, Athens.

Six pairs, including a mother and daughter, sisters, a father and son and a father and daughter, raced for a £100,000 prize. In each city the pairs had to work out quiz questions and cryptic clues to find Bradley at the finish. The last pair to arrive faced the chasers in a question-off and risked elimination. The reaction was mixed, with some viewers missing the quickfire quizzing of the original.

It is not the weekday programme, and it has not taken that slot. If you want it, ITVX is the place to look.

Beat the Chasers and Celebrity Specials

Beat the Chasers is the primetime version. It began on 27 April 2020 and won National Television Awards in 2021 and 2022. An eighth series was reported as commissioned in late 2025 for broadcast in 2026.

Celebrity Specials started on 29 October 2011 and there have been 15 series so far.

Where to watch The Chase repeats and old UK episodes

Challenge is the main home for repeats. The listings show The Chase and its celebrity editions there throughout the day and night, often several in a row, and ITV Quiz repeats Beat the Chasers. ITVX carries the show on demand.
