The Voice UK 2026: When It’s On, the Coaches and When the Final Is
ITV’s singing contest in which the coaches pick singers on their voice alone, with their chairs turned away from the stage. It has been on ITV1 since 2017, after five series on BBC One, and goes out on Saturday nights while a series is running.

Who is on The Voice UK 2026?
Series 14 is presented by Emma Willis, her twelfth run in the job. The four coaching chairs belong to:
- will.i.am, the only coach who has been on every series since 2012
- Kelly Rowland, new this year after coaching on the Australian version, taking LeAnn Rimes’s seat
- Sir Tom Jones, back for his thirteenth series
- Tom Fletcher and Danny Jones, the McFly pair who share one chair and won with AVA in 2024

How the 2026 series works
The series runs to ten episodes, which is one longer than recent years: six blind audition shows, two battle shows, a semi-final and a final. All of it goes out on Saturday nights on ITV1.
Blind auditions. The coaches sit facing away from the stage and turn their chairs only on the strength of the voice. If more than one turns, the singer chooses. The new twist this year is the Rewind: each coach got one chance to bring back a singer they had failed to turn for. will.i.am and Sir Tom Jones never used theirs. Every coach finished the blinds with eight singers, so 32 went through.
Battles. The callbacks used in the last few series are gone, and the battles are back for the first time since 2021. Singers from the same team go head to head, and this year the battles were filmed in a private room rather than in front of an audience. Each coach had a guest adviser: Cheryl for will.i.am, Delta Goodrem for Kelly Rowland, Paloma Faith for Sir Tom, and McFly bandmates Dougie Poynter and Harry Judd for Tom and Danny. Each coach takes three singers from their team to the semi-final, and can put both acts in a battle through or send both home.
Semi-final and final. Twelve singers reach the semi-final, three per team, and it airs on Saturday 24 October at 8.35pm. Only one singer per team goes through to the final, which is the episode after that. The winner gets a record deal with Universal Music Group, £50,000 and a holiday to Universal’s Florida resort.
Our honest view: dropping the callbacks for battles was the right call. The battles are the part of the format where the coaching actually shows, and having the rounds filmed away from an audience makes them feel more like a rehearsal room than a light entertainment set-piece.

There was no 2025 series. ITV pulled the show from its usual autumn slot that year and moved it twice before settling on an August 2026 start. The first five series were on BBC One; ITV has had it since 2017.
The Voice UK 2027: what is confirmed
ITV announced a new line-up for series 15 on 11 September 2026. These parts are confirmed by ITV:
- New presenters: Alesha Dixon and Stacey Solomon, replacing Emma Willis, who has moved to Strictly Come Dancing
- New coaches: Cheryl and Aitch, both coaching the show for the first time
- Returning coaches: will.i.am and Kelly Rowland
- Leaving: Sir Tom Jones, Tom Fletcher and Danny Jones
- When: 2027, with no month given yet.
What is not settled is Sir Tom’s role. He said the decision was ITV’s, not his, and that he had been offered a much smaller part. ITV says talks with him about some involvement are still going on. Until either side confirms more, assume he will not be in a chair.
Cheryl has already had a taste of it, as will.i.am’s adviser in this year’s battles. Having worked as a judge on The X Factor, she is the safest pick of the new names; Aitch is the bigger gamble.
What happened to The Voice Kids?
The Voice Kids ran on ITV from 2017 to 2023, for singers aged 7 to 14, and had seven series. ITV put it on a break in July 2023 and it has not come back since. There is no announcement of a return.
