The two cannot both be right, and the title is the likelier error. Set the recorder expecting Robin Williams and Sally Field rather than five-a-side football, and check the on-screen guide closer to the time.

The logic quiz that ranks its questions by the percentage of the public who can answer them, which means the jackpot round is genuinely brutal by the end.

Prime Time

Antiques Roadshow – BBC One, 8pm

A new series opens at the Dartington Estate near Totnes, the show’s first visit there since Michael Aspel used to present it. Among tonight’s finds: letters and drawings that belonged to computing pioneer Charles Babbage, a silver claret jug buried during the war to keep it out of German hands, and a pair of Pierre Cardin shoes styled to look like bare feet. Fiona Bruce also gets talked into a valuation challenge by expert Chris Yeo, putting three pieces of Devon studio pottery in price order with no hints allowed.

How the Tudors Lost Their Heads – National Geographic, 8pm

Suzannah Lipscomb and Dan Snow dig into the case of Perkin Warbeck, the pretender who spent years claiming to be a surviving Plantagenet prince and came close to genuinely destabilising Henry VII’s grip on the throne.

Wagging Rights – Dave, 8pm

A new series with a twist on the usual celebrity-does-a-new-skill format: it’s the dogs being trained for the show ring, not their famous owners. Dave lines up Rhod Gilbert’s labradoodle Picsen, Sara Pascoe’s springer jack Mouse and Vicky Pattison’s labrador Milo among the entrants, and none of them look like naturals.

22 Kids & Counting – Channel 5, 8pm

Channel 5 follows Britain’s biggest family through the ordinary chaos of school runs, birthdays and a grocery bill most viewers won’t want to think about too hard.

Vigil – BBC One, 9pm ⭐

The penultimate episode of series three, and it’s the one where the pressure really starts to show. Microbiologist Shen Jia has spent this run getting shot at, chased and roughed up, and now, battered and cornered, she’s insisting the bioweapon everyone’s fighting over was never built as a weapon — it’s “the answer to everything”. Whether that’s the truth or the last stand of someone who’s cracked under pressure is exactly the kind of ambiguity this series does well.

Amy has to decide how much of that to believe before things on the research station tip over into something worse, and Kirsten’s custody situation only adds to the sense that whoever’s actually responsible has been three steps ahead the whole time. What makes tonight sting is knowing there’s no cushion left — every loose thread gets pulled tight before the finale airs at the same time tomorrow.

Suranne Jones and Rose Leslie have carried this series from the start, and putting them under maximum strain with one episode to go is exactly the right call. If you’ve stuck with it this far, do not miss tonight.

Trigger Point – ITV1, 9pm

The penultimate episode, and the writers finally start showing their hand. A nervy young bomb expert is drafted in to advise the anti-terror unit and immediately looks out of his depth, fumbling through a mock-up that convinces nobody, while investigators quietly start to suspect the leak they’ve been chasing is sitting inside their own operation. Lana Washington’s therapist tells her she isn’t ready to be back in the field. Lana, unsurprisingly, ignores that entirely. It ends at exactly the same time as Vigil tomorrow night, which is going to make for an awkward remote-control standoff in a lot of living rooms.

Apocalypse – Channel 4, 9pm

A new reality series with a genuinely unusual premise: drop two groups of strangers into the same abandoned American town, give neither side any idea the other exists, and take away the heating, food and running water. The cast leans hard into “types” — a self-styled politician, a contestant who describes herself as having “a phobia of sweat”, and a farmer his own teammates have already nicknamed Rambo — and the first flashpoint, over which group gets to the town’s remaining chickens first, tells you everything about how this is going to go.

Silent Witness – Drama, 9pm

A repeat run for the Lyell Centre team, working a case that opens as a straightforward post-mortem and gets steadily messier from there. Reliable Sunday-night comfort viewing if the two live dramas opposite it aren’t your thing.

Mock the Week – TLC, 9pm

Axed by the BBC back in 2022 after 17 years, revived this year once TLC decided comedy suited its schedule better than reality shows. Dara Ó Briain hosts Hugh Dennis, Sara Pascoe, Rhys James and guests for a full series after February’s comeback special, with a new Prime Minister now safely in the job and presumably fair game.

Kingsman: The Secret Service – E4, 9pm

Matthew Vaughn’s 2014 spy comedy, with Colin Firth training up Taron Egerton’s rough-edged recruit for a very well-tailored secret service. Still one of the better big-budget action comedies of the decade, violence and all.

Big Brother: Live Launch – ITV2, 9pm

AJ Odudu and Will Best welcome a fresh set of housemates into the house live, complete with the usual mix of nerves, entrances and instant alliances. It repeats on ITV1 at 10.45pm for anyone who’d rather catch it after the main dramas finish.

Late Night

Simple Minds: Radio 2 in the Park 2026 – BBC Two, 10pm

The Glasgow band close out this year’s festival, and recent gigs suggest a set built around the mid-80s hits that made them arena regulars, with a few of the more atmospheric early-80s tracks worked in for anyone who prefers the band before the stadiums.

Match of the Day – BBC One, 10.30pm
