Watch: What’s On TV Tonight

Early Evening

Countryfile – BBC One, 5.40pm

Countryfile opens BBC One’s Sunday evening at 5.40pm, with an hour of farming, wildlife and rural arguments. It’s the gentle runway into a night that gets much heavier at 9pm, so treat it as a warm-up.

Blue Murder Motel – ITV3, 6.05pm

ITV3 shows Blue Murder Motel from 6.05pm, with episodes five and six back to back. Two retired detectives run a motel in New Zealand and can’t stop investigating, so that’s two cases before the evening is properly under way. It’s sunny, undemanding crime with Midsomer Murders to follow at 8.05pm.

The Reluctant Vampire – BBC One, 6.40pm

The Reluctant Vampire is on BBC One at 6.40pm with episode three of six, as an old friend of the family turning up and the household’s secrets harder to keep. Lenny Rush has a knack for looking quietly put upon, and that’s what holds this together. It’s pitched at the whole family, which is rarer than it should be.

Ticket to Paradise – Film4, 6.55pm

Ticket to Paradise, the 2022 romcom with Julia Roberts and George Clooney, is on Film4 at 6.55pm. They play a divorced couple who fly to Bali to stop their daughter marrying too fast. It’s a rom-com that knows exactly what it is, and the two leads bicker well. Film4 follows it with Living at 9pm, which makes for a sharp change of mood.

Columbo – 5USA, 6.55pm

Columbo is on 5USA at 6.55pm with The Greenhouse Jungle, from 1972, with Peter Falk and Ray Milland, in which a plant collector’s scheme to stage a kidnapping goes badly wrong. 5USA then runs The Most Crucial Game at 8.25pm, with Robert Culp. Peter Falk’s shambling routine is still the best trick on television.

Strictly Come Dancing: The Results – BBC One, 7.10pm

Strictly Come Dancing: The Results is on BBC One at 7.10pm tonight and runs for 50 minutes, finishing at 8pm. That means the nervous wait, the reveal of who is safe, and the dance-off, which is where you find out who has left this week. The format has always been better in the dance-off than in the stalling that leads up to it. Our Strictly guide covers how to catch up if you miss it.

The Mandarin Oriental Hotel: London’s Luxury Landmark – Channel 5, 7pm

The Mandarin Oriental Hotel: London’s Luxury Landmark is on Channel 5 at 7pm, going behind the scenes at the Knightsbridge hotel, where Winston Churchill and Madonna are among the famous names to have stayed. This is a fresh episode, and it’s an easy hour if you like peeking into places you’ll never afford.

A Nice Little Bank That Should Be Robbed – Talking Pictures TV, 7.20pm

Talking Pictures TV shows A Nice Little Bank That Should Be Robbed at 7.20pm, a 1958 comedy with Tom Ewell and Mickey Rooney about two crooks who hit a bank to afford a horse, then find the animal’s upkeep forces them back for more. The channel has Fox, a 1980 drama with Peter Vaughan and Ray Winstone, at 9.05pm.

Eva Longoria: Searching for France – BBC Two, 7.20pm

Eva Longoria: Searching for France is on BBC Two at 7.20pm, and episode four of eight takes her to Brittany, where she and guide Tanguy Thomassin head out to the oyster beds at Cancale. Longoria is easy company and lets her hosts do the talking, which is the right call. Forty pleasant minutes.

BBC Young Musician Quarter-Final 2026 – BBC Four, 7.30pm

BBC Four has highlights of the BBC Young Musician Quarter-Final 2026 at 7.30pm, presented by Petroc Trelawny, with Joanna MacGregor, Ben Gernon and Julian Bliss judging. This is the stage where the competition gets serious and you start spotting players you’ll hear again. BBC Four has A Stitch in Time at 7pm first.

Prime Time

Antiques Roadshow – BBC One, 8pm

Antiques Roadshow is on BBC One at 8pm from Valentines Mansion in Ilford, east London. Finds include wrestling memorabilia and props from the Indiana Jones films, and the format will be the same as ever: somebody brings in something from the loft and the expert goes quiet. Reliable, and a calm hour before the heavy drama.

Kevin McCloud’s Classic Car Road Trips – Channel 4, 8pm

Kevin McCloud’s Classic Car Road Trips starts a new series on Channel 4 at 8pm, with Kevin McCloud swapping buildings for gearboxes. He starts on the French Riviera in a Citroën DS convertible. I’d happily watch him talk about suspension for an hour, and it looks lovely. Channel 4 also has Kevin McCloud’s Listed Britain at 7pm, and Apocalypse: Could You Survive? at 9pm.

Wagging Rights – Dave, 8pm

Wagging Rights reaches its grand final on Dave at 8pm, so the celebrity-and-dog pairs get one last challenge, and one pair becomes champion. The sort of show where the dogs are the stars and everybody knows it. Dave goes straight into Have I Got a Bit More News for You at 9pm.

Midsomer Murders – ITV3, 8.05pm

ITV3 has two Midsomer Murders episodes from 8.05pm. The first, Four Funerals and a Wedding, sends Barnaby into a village where a long-running women’s society is at war with a chauvinistic vicar. A second episode, The Straw Woman, follows at 10.05pm. It’s two hours of village homicide.

Time – BBC One, 9pm ⭐

Time is on BBC One at 9pm tonight, and it’s the finale of series three. This is the one to watch. Jimmy McGovern and Samuel Bailey’s prison drama closes its third series, set in HMYOI Alderwick, a young offender institution. David Tennant plays prison officer Bobby Bailey, with Siobhan Finneran as chaplain Marie-Louise O’Dell, and the story has been building around a death that none of the staff can put behind them.

McGovern doesn’t do comfort. Series one starred Sean Bean and Stephen Graham, and each run has been a self-contained look at how institutions grind people down. Expect to feel it. If you’ve missed a week, episodes one and two are on iPlayer.

The Party – ITV1, 9pm

The Party is on ITV1 at 9pm with episode four of five. Luke Evans plays Martin Gilmour and Tom Cullen plays Ben Fitzmaurice, the old friends whose long-buried history is now pulling them apart. This week tension between them reaches a breaking point, and the fifth and final episode follows tomorrow at 9pm. If you’re choosing between the two big dramas, it’s available on ITVX.

Wilderness with Simon Reeve – BBC Two, 9pm

Wilderness with Simon Reeve is on BBC Two at 9pm with the last of four episodes. Reeve covers 3,000 miles of Mongolia, from desert to steppe to high mountains. He goes looking for snow leopards and spends time with nomadic eagle hunters. Few presenters make a huge landscape feel as lived-in as Reeve does, and it’s a calm alternative to the dramas.

Living – Film4, 9pm

Living, the 2022 drama with Bill Nighy, is on Film4 at 9pm. Nighy plays a buttoned-up post-war London civil servant who decides to start living properly after a terminal diagnosis. It’s a 2022 drama from Kazuo Ishiguro’s screenplay, directed by Oliver Hermanus, and Nighy was nominated for an Oscar for it. Quiet, precise and rather moving.

Silent Witness – Drama, 9pm

The Drama channel shows Silent Witness at 9pm, with part two of History. A DNA trail tied to a political killing drags Nikki Alexander back to her own history. Drama has Sister Boniface Mysteries at 8pm and New Tricks at 11.20pm. That’s a full evening of British crime for anyone who has had enough of tonight’s other drama.

Live: NFL on 5: Buffalo Bills @ Las Vegas Raiders – Channel 5, 9pm

Channel 5 has the Buffalo Bills at the Las Vegas Raiders live at 9pm, with Josh Allen’s Bills making the trip to face a Raiders team that has been on the rise. Channel 5 also had the Houston Texans v Jacksonville Jaguars game from Wembley at 2pm, and 5Action has Bears at Falcons from 5.30pm.

Late Night

Later… with Jools Holland – BBC Two, 10pm

Later… with Jools Holland is on BBC Two at 10pm with episode two of the series. Royal Blood, Moses Boyd, Shygirl, Kingfishr and Ayanna Witter-Johnson are on, plus Black Sabbath’s Tony Iommi. It’s a good mix, with a heavy hitter and some of the more adventurous acts around. Priscilla, Sofia Coppola’s 2023 film, follows at 10.45pm.

Helen Mirren Remembers… As You Like It – BBC Four, 10pm

Helen Mirren Remembers… As You Like It is a ten-minute piece on BBC Four at 10pm, in which Dame Helen Mirren recalls one of her early television parts, Rosalind in Shakespeare’s comedy, made for the BBC in 1978. The full production, As You Like It, begins immediately afterwards at 10.10pm.

Gogglebox – Channel 4, 10pm

Gogglebox is on Channel 4 at 10pm, back on the sofas to find out what the nation made of the week’s telly. If you’ve watched Time you’ll want to see who else was watching it.

Match of the Day – BBC One, 10.30pm

Match of the Day is on BBC One at 10.30pm with highlights of four Premier League matches, including Nottingham Forest v Arsenal and Leeds United v Manchester United at Elland Road. Children of Men, Alfonso Cuarón’s 2006 sci-fi thriller, follows at 11.40pm.

Sport

For every kick-off, see our football on TV today page. Free to air, there’s a lot of NFL. Channel 5 has the Texans v Jaguars game from Wembley live at 2pm and the Bills at the Raiders at 9pm, with 5Action showing Bears at Falcons from 5.30pm. BBC Two has Manchester City v Brighton in the Women’s Super League, with coverage from 2.15pm and kick-off at 2.30pm, after the final day of the Track Cycling World Championships in Shanghai earlier in the morning, and Match of the Day is on BBC One at 10.30pm. TV Radar Team is the byline on TV Radar's automatically generated TV guides — covering BBC One, BBC Two, ITV1, Channel 4, Channel 5 and beyond. Each evening's schedule is built from the published listings (titles, start times, run lengths and episode numbers) and checked against our listings data before publication, so you can decide in two minutes what to record and what to skip. These guides are generated automatically rather than written by hand; a human editor spot-checks them, but not every page is read before it goes live. Based in London, updated every day.
