Watch: What’s On TV Tonight
Early Evening
House of Games – BBC Two, 6pm
House of Games is on BBC Two at 6pm, with Les Dennis, Jenny Eclair, Owain Wyn Evans and Lauren Patel playing for the week and Michael Sheen as the guest. It’s the penultimate round of the week, so the leaderboard starts to matter. Strictly: It Takes Two follows at 6.30pm.
Breast Cancer Scandal: Exposing the Harm – BBC Two, 7pm
Breast Cancer Scandal: Exposing the Harm is on BBC Two at 7pm. Sharon Barbour reports on a group of women in County Durham who were told they needed mastectomies they did not in fact need. Hard viewing. Honestly, a story this serious deserves more than 30 minutes.
The Martin Lewis Money Show Live: Budget Special – ITV1, 7pm
The Martin Lewis Money Show Live: Budget Special is on ITV1 at 7pm, and Lewis goes through what the Chancellor’s Autumn Budget means for household finances. It’s a full hour, live, right up to Emmerdale, so have your own bills handy and do the sums as he goes.
EastEnders – BBC One, 7.30pm
Yes, EastEnders is on BBC One at 7.30pm tonight. Cindy has let the truth out, she’s enjoying every second of it and she isn’t done yet. Jack, meanwhile, hears something that worries him. Thursday is the last episode of the week, so the next one is Monday 2 November. Our guide to when the soaps and big shows are on has the weekly pattern if you lose track.
UEFA Women’s Champions League: Manchester City v Paris Saint-Germain – BBC Two, 7.30pm
Manchester City v Paris Saint-Germain is live on BBC Two, with coverage from 7.30pm and kick-off at 8pm. It’s matchday three of the league phase. The match is also on Disney+ if you’d rather watch on a phone. Our Manchester City on TV page has the club’s other fixtures.
Prime Time
The Celebrity Traitors – BBC One, 8pm ⭐
The Celebrity Traitors is on BBC One at 8pm tonight, and it’s the last episode before the finale tomorrow night. So few players are left that a shrug at the round table now reads like a confession.
I’ve never bought the idea that famous people are good at deception. They’re good at looking sincere, which is different, and the castle keeps catching them out. Nobody wants to be the one who sent a friend home, and that guilt is half the fun.
The Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked follows at 9.05pm, with Ed Gamble and his guests picking over the episode. Both are worth staying in for, and our guide to watching The Traitors has the catch-up details.
Emmerdale – ITV1, 8pm
Emmerdale is on ITV1 at 8pm tonight, and Baby Tate has gone missing. Kim is certain DS Thea Ramsden is to blame. Coronation Street takes over at 8.30pm.
The Yorkshire Vet – Channel 5, 8pm
The Yorkshire Vet is on Channel 5 at 8pm. Julian Norton deals with two rabbits that have been fighting, and Peter Wright has a patient with a bladder stone to operate on. It’s the usual mix of the sweet and the faintly squeamish.
Titanic: Building the World’s Largest Ship – Channel 4, 8pm
Titanic: Building the World’s Largest Ship is on Channel 4 at 8pm. It’s about the building of the ship, not the sinking, and the numbers are the story: around 15,000 workers. A nice change from yet another iceberg documentary.
Miss Scarlet – Drama, 8pm
Miss Scarlet is on Drama at 8pm. Eliza gets drawn into a missing-person case after Patrick Nash, played by Felix Scott, is released from jail early. It’s gentle Victorian sleuthing, and the full series is available on U.
Classic Movies: The Story of Dead of Night – Sky Arts, 8pm
Classic Movies: The Story of Dead of Night is on Sky Arts at 8pm. Ian Nathan looks at the 1945 Ealing horror anthology with a Halloween angle. It’s a neat hour for anyone who prefers creaky chills to gore.
The Guns of Navarone – BBC Four, 8pm
The Guns of Navarone is on BBC Four at 8pm, a two-and-a-half-hour Second World War mission film with Gregory Peck, David Niven and Anthony Quinn. A small team has to get to a fortified Greek island and wreck its guns. It’s old-fashioned, and I’d happily watch it again. Halloween follows at 10.30pm.
Lara Croft: Tomb Raider – BBC Three, 8.25pm
Lara Croft: Tomb Raider is on BBC Three at 8.25pm, with Angelina Jolie as the explorer and Daniel Craig in the cast. It’s the first big-screen version of the game, silly and glossy. The channel follows it with Drag Race UK at 10pm.
Coronation Street – ITV1, 8.30pm
Coronation Street is on ITV1 at 8.30pm tonight, straight after Emmerdale. Lucy goes to the social worker about Sally in the hope of landing her in it, Summer promises Marco she’ll stay loyal until he’s cleared, and Idris makes it clear he wants to buy the factory off Carla. Long Lost Family follows at 9pm.
Long Lost Family – ITV1, 9pm
Long Lost Family is on ITV1 at 9pm. Paula Beer hopes to find the son she had to give up in 1969, and Sharon Thomas wants to trace her younger brother. Keep tissues handy.
Taskmaster – Channel 4, 9.05pm
Taskmaster is on Channel 4 at 9.05pm, with Isy Suttie, Chloe Petts, Richard Ayoade, Nina Conti and Matt Lucas facing Greg Davies and Alex Horne’s tasks. The show works when someone misreads the brief and commits to it, which suits Ayoade perfectly. Two episodes of It Gets Worse follow.
The Madame Blanc Mysteries – Channel 5, 9.05pm
The Madame Blanc Mysteries is on Channel 5 at 9.05pm, with Sally Lindsay and Steve Edge. The mayor, Stephanie Arquette, is found dead ahead of the Christmas Eve wedding of Jean and Dom. A Christmas wedding plot in October, but fine. A Night in with Sally Lindsay & Suranne Jones follows at 10.05pm.
Not Going Out – BBC One, 9.30pm
Not Going Out is on BBC One at 9.30pm, and this is the series finale. After a phone-in call on the radio, Lee comes up with what he thinks is a sure-fire way to get rich, and Lee Mack and Sally Bretton do the rest. It follows Uncloaked.
Late Night
RuPaul’s Drag Race UK – BBC Three, 10pm
RuPaul’s Drag Race UK is on BBC Three at 10pm. It’s the semi-final, the challenge is a roast built around an awards show, and Michelle de Swarte is the guest judge.
It Gets Worse – Channel 4, 10.05pm
It Gets Worse is on Channel 4 at 10.05pm, with a second episode at 10.35pm. Leo Reich plays Ethan, and Zadie Smith narrates, which is not what I expected from a comedy about someone’s terrible twenties.
Halloween – BBC Four, 10.30pm
Halloween is on BBC Four at 10.30pm, with Jamie Lee Curtis and Donald Pleasence. John Carpenter’s film is still frightening because it’s so spare, and it is a fitting pick two nights before Halloween.
Godzilla vs Kong – ITV1, 10.45pm
Godzilla vs Kong is on ITV1 at 10.45pm, with Alexander Skarsgard among the humans. It’s two huge monsters hitting each other, which is all it promises, and it runs until 12.35am.
Gogglebox for Stand Up To Cancer – Channel 4, 11.10pm
Gogglebox for Stand Up To Cancer is on Channel 4 at 11.10pm. Our Gogglebox page has more on the show. E4 has older Gogglebox episodes at 9pm and 10pm.
Sport
Football on TV tonight is the Women’s Champions League tie between Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain, live on BBC Two from 7.30pm with kick-off at 8pm. The match is also on Disney+, and our football on TV today page has the wider picture. Highlights of Ligue 1 are on ITV4 at 11pm, which is not live. Early on, the men’s one-day international between Sri Lanka and England is on Sky Sports Cricket from 7.30am, and the Mexico Open golf is on Sky Sports from 8am. Final Verdict
If you only watch one TV show tonight, make it The Celebrity Traitors at 8pm on BBC One, then stay for Uncloaked and the Not Going Out finale. Football fans can start earlier with City v PSG on BBC Two at 7.30pm, though kick-off at 8pm clashes with the castle, so one of them goes on catch-up.

For a film, The Guns of Navarone at 8pm on BBC Four, with Halloween at 10.30pm to finish. If war films aren’t your thing, Film4 has The Contractor at 9pm.
