Final Score – BBC One, 3.45pm
Final Score is on BBC One at 3.45pm and runs until 5.25pm. It’s the afternoon’s football results, handy if you’ve spent the day in the car or stood on a touchline.
Grease – ITV1, 4pm
Grease is on ITV1 at 4pm. The 1978 musical, finishing at 6.05pm when the news takes over.
Battle of Britain – BBC Two, 5.30pm
Battle of Britain is on BBC Two at 5.30pm, the 1969 film about the 1940 air campaign over southern England. It ends at 7.40pm, just as the Milan derby coverage starts.
The Celebrity Inner Circle – BBC One, 5.45pm
The Celebrity Inner Circle is on BBC One at 5.45pm, and it’s the last of its eight episodes. Katie Piper, Claire Sweeney, Shaun Williamson, Josie d’Arby and Jean Johansson are the celebrities this time.
The Chase – ITV1, 6.30pm
The Chase is on ITV1 at 6.30pm with Bradley Walsh. An hour of questions and a Chaser looking smug. It’s up against Strictly, so it’s the one for anyone who’d rather answer than judge.
Prime Time (6.30pm onwards)
Strictly Come Dancing: Halloween Special – BBC One, 6.30pm ⭐
The Strictly Halloween Special is on BBC One at 6.30pm tonight, live for two hours until 8.30pm, and it’s our pick of the evening. The couples dance spooky themed routines in a ballroom done up as a haunted house.
Halloween week is the one night the show is allowed to be completely daft. Expect fangs and cobwebs, and costumes that take longer to get into than the routine takes to dance. The points still count this late in the series, though, and a wobbly samba in a cape is still a wobbly samba.
If you only watch one TV show tonight, make it this. The results show is on BBC One tomorrow at 7.10pm, and iPlayer has tonight’s if you’re out trick or treating.
Win Win with Postcode Lottery – ITV1, 7.30pm
Win Win with Postcode Lottery is on ITV1 at 7.30pm. Season finale, Mel and Sue hosting, £1 million up for grabs.
Serie A: AC Milan v Inter Milan – BBC Two, 7.40pm
BBC Two has live Serie A from 7.40pm: the Milan derby, AC Milan against Inter, with kick-off at about 7.45pm. A big European game free to watch on a Saturday night is a rare treat.
Griff Across the Alps – Channel 4, 8pm
Griff Across the Alps is on Channel 4 at 8pm, a new series following Griff Rhys Jones across the mountains. Episode one is set in France, where he takes a mountain helicopter ride, tries whitewater rafting and meets a chef.
Breeders’ Cup Live – ITV4, 8pm
ITV4 has Breeders’ Cup Live from 8pm to 10.45pm. Day two at Keeneland in Kentucky, four races.
The Voice UK: The Final – ITV1, 8.30pm
The Voice UK final is on ITV1 at 8.30pm and runs until 10.20pm. It’s the end of series 14, and there are four coaching teams this year: Sir Tom Jones, will.i.am, Kelly Rowland, and Tom Fletcher with Danny Jones as a pair. It’s also the last episode for presenter Emma Willis and coach Sir Tom Jones, so expect a duet or two, a lot of big notes and the winner right at the end.
It clashes with Wisdom of the Crowd on BBC One, but if you like the singing shows there’s no contest. ITVX has it afterwards.
Wisdom of the Crowd – BBC One, 8.30pm
Wisdom of the Crowd is on BBC One at 8.30pm, episode seven of eight. Players can win up to £30,000 by guessing how the studio audience answered. Forty-five minutes, and a calmer watch after the dancing.
Suicide Squad – ITV2, 9pm
ITV2 has Suicide Squad at 9pm, the 2016 comic book film in which a gang of jailed villains is sent on a mission. With ad breaks it runs to 11.25pm. Earlier on, ITV2 shows Addams Family Values at 5pm and Edward Scissorhands at 6.55pm, which is about as Halloween as that channel gets.
Celebrity Gogglebox – E4, 9pm
Celebrity Gogglebox is on E4 at 9pm, with regular Gogglebox episodes after it at 10pm and 11.05pm.
The F Ward – Channel 4, 9pm
The F Ward is on Channel 4 at 9pm, a new Australian medical drama, and episode two follows straight after at 10pm. Anna Friel plays Dr Gloria Wall, a British surgeon sent to knock a group of struggling interns at a Sydney hospital into shape. In the opener they’re down to their last chance of qualifying. If you’ve been missing a decent hospital drama, give it a go.
The Fog – Sky Arts, 9pm
Sky Arts has John Carpenter’s The Fog at 9pm. Its The Directors profile of Carpenter goes out first, at 8pm.
Marble Hall Murders – BBC One, 9.15pm
Marble Hall Murders is on BBC One at 9.15pm, the last of six episodes, finishing at 10.05pm. Susan gets home to her freshly decorated flat and finds people there she wasn’t expecting. All six are on iPlayer if you’re behind.
Ghostwatch: The Night That Terrified Britain – Channel 5, 9.15pm
Ghostwatch: The Night That Terrified Britain is on Channel 5 at 9.15pm. It’s a new documentary about Ghostwatch, the BBC’s 1992 fake live ghost hunt fronted by Michael Parkinson, Sarah Greene and Craig Charles, which a lot of viewers believed was real. If you remember the original, you’ll want this on. It runs to 10.40pm, then Channel 5 has TV’s 30 Most Controversial Moments.
Late Night
Talk to Me – Film4, 10pm
Film4 has Talk to Me at 10pm, the 2022 Australian horror where teenagers use an embalmed hand to talk to the dead for fun. It’s genuinely frightening. It runs until 11.50pm, when Barbarian starts, and Antlers follows at 1.55am, so Film4 is horror until the small hours.

Oasis – Live at Manchester City Stadium is on BBC Two at 10.50pm: the band’s 2005 homecoming gig. It’s on iPlayer too. The 1997 documentary Oasis – Right Here, Right Now follows at 12.05am.
The Iron Claw – BBC One, 11.55pm

Final Verdict
Start with Strictly at 6.30pm. After that it’s the Voice final on ITV1, or Griff and then The F Ward on Channel 4 if you’d rather skip the big notes.
The catch is 9.15pm. Marble Hall Murders lands in the middle of the Voice final, and Ghostwatch starts at the same time on Channel 5, so something is going on catch-up. Ghostwatch also runs into the start of Match of the Day, which is easier: MOTD is on iPlayer.
