Watch: What’s On TV Tonight

Early Evening

Countryfile Ramble for BBC Children in Need 2026 – BBC One, 5.25pm

The Countryfile Ramble for BBC Children in Need 2026 is on BBC One at 5.25pm. Matt Baker and Anita Rani are among the hosts of the charity walk, now in its twelfth year. Fresh air by proxy.

The Reluctant Vampire – BBC One, 6.40pm

The Reluctant Vampire is on BBC One at 6.40pm, episode four of six. Lenny Rush plays Val, who has Gertie as a loyal friend, and this week a pair of vampire hunters turn up. Light, daft and fine for the kids. The full series is on iPlayer.

Strictly Come Dancing: The Results – BBC One, 7.10pm

Strictly Come Dancing: The Results is on BBC One at 7.10pm, running to 8pm. It’s the elimination show, and it sets up Halloween week, which in Strictly terms means costumes and extra dry ice. I won’t tell you who goes, because I don’t know and neither do you.

The Beverly Hills: Hotel to the Rich & Famous – Channel 5, 7pm

The Beverly Hills: Hotel to the Rich & Famous is a one-off on Channel 5 at 7pm, about the Los Angeles hotel that film stars used as a second home. Gossip and old photographs, basically. Fine for an hour before the main shows.

EastEnders Omnibus – BBC Three, 7pm

EastEnders is on BBC Three at 7pm as an omnibus of four half-hour episodes, running to 9pm. If you went looking for it on BBC One, that’s why: it isn’t on there on Sundays. Kat, Cindy and Max carry this batch. Handy if you missed the week.

Eva Longoria: Searching for France – BBC Two, 7.20pm

Eva Longoria: Searching for France is on BBC Two at 7.20pm, and this time she is in Alsace. The region has changed hands between France and Germany more than once, and you can taste it in the cooking. A pleasant forty minutes.

BBC Young Musician Semi-Final 2026 – BBC Four, 7.30pm

The BBC Young Musician Semi-Final 2026 is on BBC Four at 7.30pm, running to 9pm. Petroc Trelawny presents. It’s mostly young players playing extremely well while you sit on the sofa, which is about as relaxing as a competition gets. Shakespeare: Rise of a Genius follows at 9pm.

Prime Time

Antiques Roadshow – BBC One, 8pm

Antiques Roadshow is on BBC One at 8pm, from Bangor Castle in Northern Ireland. The format hasn’t changed in decades and still works. Somebody walks in with a family vase and the valuer goes pale.

Formula 1: United States Grand Prix – Sky Sports F1, 8pm

Formula 1’s United States Grand Prix is on Sky Sports F1 at 8pm UK time today, also live on Sky Sports Main Event, with the build-up from 6.30pm. The race is in Austin, where the 3pm local start is 8pm here now the clocks have gone back. Antonelli has a mathematical chance of clinching the world title if he wins. Channel 4 has only qualifying highlights, not the race. Reaction follows at 10pm.

Emmerdale – ITV1, 8pm

Emmerdale is on ITV1 at 8pm tonight, with Coronation Street after it at 8.30pm. An odd Sunday double, but both are in the ITV tonight listings. No episode details have been confirmed, so there’s no plot to pass on. Our Emmerdale page has more on the soap.

Coronation Street – ITV1, 8.30pm

Coronation Street is on ITV1 at 8.30pm tonight, straight after Emmerdale. No episode detail here either. Adultery follows at 9pm.

Midsomer Murders – ITV3, 8pm

Midsomer Murders is on ITV3 at 8pm with They Seek Him Here, a series 10 repeat, followed by a second episode, Bantling Boy, at 10pm. Before it, Blue Murder Motel has two new episodes at 6pm and 7pm. If you like a cosy killing, ITV3 has your Sunday sorted.

Kevin McCloud’s Classic Car Road Trips – Channel 4, 8pm

Kevin McCloud’s Classic Car Road Trips is on Channel 4 at 8pm, episode two. He drives a Maserati 3500GT through Emilia-Romagna, and the car looks better than anyone else on TV tonight.

This City Is Ours – BBC One, 9pm ⭐

This City Is Ours is on BBC One at 9pm tonight, and it’s my pick of the night. Series two begins with Michael and Diana pulled back into the criminal life they thought they had left behind, after Ricardo’s death. James Nelson-Joyce, Hannah Onslow and Mike Noble return to the cast. It continues on BBC One on Monday at 9pm too.

Watch the first one live, then decide whether to binge, since all eight episodes are on iPlayer from tonight. Series one was a loud, grim Liverpool crime story and made no apology for it. The second run has to get its pieces moving fast, and an hour is long enough to tell.

Adultery – ITV1, 9pm

Adultery is a new six-part drama on ITV1 at 9pm, running to 10.05pm. Romola Garai and Dominic Cooper play two married people who meet by chance and start an affair, and their teenage children get close at the same time, which complicates everything. Matthew McNulty and Shelley Conn are also in it. It could be good, it could be daft. One episode should settle it.

Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing – BBC Two, 9pm

Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing returns to BBC Two at 9pm for series nine, episode one of six, with Bob Mortimer and Paul Whitehouse on the River Ribble in Lancashire. Ted, the elderly terrier, makes his last appearance, so have a tissue handy. Mostly, though, it’s two friends sitting by water.

One Born Every Minute – E4, 9pm

One Born Every Minute is back on E4 at 9pm with a new generation of parents, now that the show has moved from Channel 4 to E4. Same recipe as ever. You’ll still cry by the second birth. First Dates follows at 10pm.

Big Brother – ITV2, 9pm

Big Brother is on ITV2 at 9pm, the live eviction show, with The Group Chat with Kate Lawler and GK Barry at 10pm. Family Guy fills the late slot from 11.05pm.

The Celebrity Traitors – BBC Three, 9pm

The Celebrity Traitors is repeated on BBC Three at 9pm, episode seven, with episode eight at 10.05pm. It’s an easy way to catch up on this week’s The Traitors before the next episodes. BBC Three’s TV channel is due to close in spring 2027.

A Course Called Ireland – BBC Two, 9.30pm

A Course Called Ireland is a new six-part series on BBC Two at 9.30pm, with Bill Murray playing golf around Ireland. You watch it for Murray being Murray. It sits nicely after Gone Fishing.

Late Night

Later… with Jools Holland – BBC Two, 10pm

Later… with Jools Holland is on BBC Two at 10pm, episode three of six. The line-up is Dexys Midnight Runners, Courtney Barnett, Madra Salach, Ibibio Sound Machine, Mulaa Joans and Elkie Brooks. Dexys alone is worth staying up for. Misery follows at 10.45pm.

Gogglebox for SU2C – Channel 4, 10.15pm

Gogglebox for SU2C is on Channel 4 at 10.15pm, the Stand Up To Cancer celebrity edition, so the usual Gogglebox sofas filled with famous faces. A regular episode follows at 11.15pm. E4 also shows a Gogglebox compilation from series 27 at 8pm.

Top Gun – ITV1, 10.20pm

Top Gun is on ITV1 at 10.20pm, Tom Cruise’s 1986 fighter-pilot film, running to 12.30am. Volleyball and jets, and ITV has shown it often enough that you’ll know every line. Fine if Adultery leaves you wanting something simpler.

Match of the Day – BBC One, 10.30pm

Match of the Day is on BBC One from 10.30pm to 11.45pm with Sunday’s Premier League games, including Liverpool v Brighton and Manchester United v Bournemouth. The morning show at 7.45am covered Saturday’s games, so don’t mix them up.

On the rest of the dial, Film4 has The Lost City at 6.50pm, Memory at 9pm and Scream at 11.15pm, Drama has Silent Witness at 9pm, Dave has Have I Got a Bit More News for You at 9pm, Yesterday has Bangers & Cash at 9pm and Sky Arts has John le Carré: A New Life at 7pm. 5USA is showing a long Columbo run from 1pm. Every film on tonight is in our films on TV this week guide.

Sport

The main free-to-air sport is darts. The European Championship finishes in Dortmund on ITV4 with quarter-finals in the afternoon and the semi-finals and final from 6pm to 10pm. Liverpool v Brighton is on Sky Sports Premier League from Anfield, kicking off at 2pm after the fixture was moved from Saturday. Formula 1’s US Grand Prix is at 8pm on Sky Sports F1, and on Channel 5 the NFL has Packers v Lions at 8pm. BBC Two has gymnastics World Championships finals from 1pm to 5pm and ITV1 has racing from Aintree at 1.15pm. Final Verdict

If you only watch one TV show tonight, make it This City Is Ours on BBC One at 9pm. Want something gentler? Mortimer & Whitehouse is on BBC Two at the same time. Adultery on ITV1 is the gamble, though at six episodes it won’t cost you much to find out.

For sport, the US Grand Prix at 8pm is the big one, and the darts final on ITV4 costs nothing. Then Jools at 10pm to see out a dark Sunday.
